I just noticed you have got 2 Ferdinand Hilgerts confused.
My grandfather, James Ferdinand "Ferd" Hilgert, (6 May 1900-16 Oct 1989), was the son of Frank Michael Hilgert and Martha Moss "Bea" BAGBY Hilgert. He was born near Mound City, Holt Co., MO on 6 May 1900, not 1876. He married my grandmother, Buelah Blanche TERRY, on 1 Aug 1925. They would have been living in St. Joseph, MO in 1930. He later lived in Kansas City, MO with his second wife.
Evidently he was named after his uncle Ferdinand Hilgert, born in 1876, son of Nicholas Hilgert and Almyra SHACKELFORD Hilgert.
