Joseph Hillenbrand - NYC>NJ>Canada

My Great Grandfather Joseph( ?)of NYC, a very common
Name in my line, so I'm told. Had 3 children, George,
Joseph Francis (B: 1886 - D: 1955) & Rita, from his
first marriage. He married again, to the family
Housekeeper. This union produced many more
children (6+). One of the children from
the 2nd marriage resulted in the Indiana branch.
(Not confirmed!)

Great granddad took part in the construction of or the
architecture of the Waldorf=Astoria hotel in NYC
(original location, 34th St.). It is also known, he and
his new family purchased one of the Rockefeller mansions
at the turn of the century.

My Grandfather Joseph Francis II (b: 1886 - d: 1955) married a NYC woman,
Edna Wilhelmina Clausing (b: 1886 - d: 1975) of NYC, they had one child, my father,
Joseph Francis III (b: 1910 - d: 1966) in Hoboken NJ, where
Granddad worked for or owned a lithography firm.

My dad J.F Jr., moved to Montreal, Canada in 1925, with
the family, of course! He graduate from l'Ecole des Beaux Arts and
perused a career as a University Professor and as a freelance commercial artist,
until his death.

My folks had two children, me, Ross Stewart (b:1955 - ) and Eric Joseph (b:1959 - ).
I still live in Montreal and Eric lives in Wisconsin.
.
I know of no direct decedents! Are we related!

Ross Hillenbrand
May 16, 2001
Hillenbrand - Romania>Pittsburg, PA>Detroit, Mich.

Our family has the name Hillenbrand popping up twice but I can't figure out the relationship, if any. My great great uncle Sender "Sam" Adler was born in Romania the son of Yigdale Adler and Esther Hillenbrand. He emigrated to PA around 1900 with his two brothers, Isadore H. Adler and David Adler, my great grandfather. Sam married Pauline Hillenbrand in 1911 in Pittsburg.Pauline was the daughter of Yakov and Eiga Hillenbrand, according to the Mormon records. The family, including David and his family, moved to Detroit Michigan soon after. Sam and Pauline had 3 children, Esther, Marie and Yale Adler. Marie is the only one who married. Pauline Hillenbrand Adler died in
Roseville Michigan in 1962.
Does anyone know anything about this family? I am wondering if Pauline was related in some way to Sender Adler through his mother Esther Hillenbrand Adler.
Another connected is that a Wolf Hillenbrand sponsered David Adler when he applied for US citizenship. I appreciate any help with this part of my family. Deborah in Ontario Canada

My father was Johann Georg Hillenbrand, born Augsburg, Germany in 1922, died 1993 in Tenn. His parents were Sebastion and Matilda Kiegle Hillenbrand. Sebastion's parents were Nicholas and Anna Marie Wintrle Hillenbrand. Matilda's parents were Babette (Romer?) an Johann Georg Kiegle. The family immigrated to the US in 1925 and I know the location of those family members. One of Sebastion's brothers went to Argentina and as far as I know all other family members remained in Germany. I would like to locate any living members of these families as well as any ancestors from the past.
