Contacting you from N.Ireland where the first of the Hillis family went to America. At the moment I am working on the assumption that Hugh Hillis was the first to go. He was the son of Captain David Hillis. The family were from Banbridge, Co.Down[about 8 miles from me]in a very beautiful area with views to the Mountains of Mourne.

My mother is a Hillis who was born in Co.Mayo and her father and his other children were mostly born in Wexford.
