LORIN HINCHCLIFF, 22, KILLED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION NEAR GLASGOW.

GLASGOW, Aug. 13 -- (AP) -- Lorin Hinchcliff, 21, of Butte [Silver Bow County], is dead and two of his companions are in a hospital here as a result of a head-on collision of trucks 14 miles southeast of Glasgow [Valley County] on the Fort Peck highway Saturday night.

The crash occurred as Hinchcliff turned out to avoid striking a stalled machine. His truck colided with an oncoming vehicle.

Hinchcliff, who was employed at the Fort Peck dam project, was injured internally. He died in a hospital here yesterday. His injured companions are William Whitlaw and Keith Finley.

Ernest Gordon, driver of the stalled machine, which had run out of gasoline, suffered three fractures of his leg when he was struck by flying debris from the trucks.

Besides his father, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Audrey Hinchcliff; a two-year old daughter, Shirley; a brother, Frank Hinchcliff; a sister, Gertrude Hinchcliff; three uncles, E.A. Hinchcliff, John Hipp and Ben Hipp, and an aunt, Mrs. Anna Kinney, all of Butte.
