PLEASE NOTE, THIS WAS POSTED FOR REFERENCE ONLY. I AM NOT RELATED TO, NOR AM I RESEARCHING THIS FAMILY, I’VE ONLY DONE A COPY AND PASTE FROM OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER FYI.

THIS INFO HAS BEEN POSTED WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE EDITOR OF THE COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD.

Robert Hindman
Posted: Tuesday, Apr 01, 2008 - 02:03:36 pm PDT
COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON STATE

Robert Hindman was reunited with his beloved wife Kathleen Hindman on March 26, 2008.

Robert was bom July 15, 1945, in Seattle to Charles and Myrtle Hindman. Robert served his country for three years in the Army at Ft. Ord in California in an infantry unit. Robert met the love of his life one day while sitting on a dock at Green Lake in Seattle. A German Shepherd dog ran up to him followed by a beautiful crimson haired young woman from England named Kathy. Kathy was shocked when her dog ran up to him because her dog didn't like anyone but her. That was a sign from above for her and he was in instant love as well. They were married Sept. 8, 1966. Robert worked for Lockheed Shipyards for a few years then worked in the drywall field with his best friend John Randolph for almost 20 years before he injured his back saving another man's life. Robert and Kathy were married over 40 years and had five children: Kevin, Dennis, Alwyn, Ronald, and Heather. They lived in many different towns and cities before settling down in Moses Lake in the late 80s. Robert's greatest loves were hunting with his son Dennis and cousin Jerry, fishing with his grandchildren and family friends, playing pull tabs at Danny's Tavern, and most of all making Kathy happy. He has joined his forever love Kathy, his mother Myrtle and father Charles, his brother Gene, and his sister Shirley. He leaves his five children Kevin, Dennis (Debra), Alwyn (Cory), Ronald (Monica), and Heather (Scott); grandchildren Linda (Todd), Ashlin, Reva, Shaudai, Tommy, Geena, Justin, Ronny, and Jaden; great-grandchild Dorsin; cousins Jerry (Carol) Mayes, and Earl Holmes; and best friends John and Debra Randolph and their children Marvin and Crenna and many other close friends and family.
James Hindman b1812 d 1880-1900 - SC, AL, MS, TN, AR

Hi y'all,
I am looking for any info on James Hindman b abt 1812 in South Carolina per census information. He was married to Elizabeth unknown. He had at least 6 children -
Mary b 1836
Richard W b 1838
Napolion B b 1840
Perlina b 1842
John W b 1847
Warren L b 1850
In 1840 their are 2 James Hindman listed in Chester County, SC. He is the younger.
In 1850 he is living in Fayette County, AL with only 2 children John W and Warren L.
By 1870 James and Elizabeth were living by themselves in Sanford County, AL and lived next to his son Warren L and wife Rose Ann(Roseanne)Otts.
James & Elizabeth and Warren & Roseanne in 1880 were in Winston, MS. I have info on most of Warren's descendants but I have no idea who James was related to or any info on the other children except Napolion B who died in the Civil War at Gettysburg.
I do suspect that James may be related to the older James listed in 1840. Some notes I have tell me he was from Ireland - but I have no confirmation on that. Warren went on to live in the Savannah area of Hardin County, Tennessee.
Any information on James and his family would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

With Carrie is Jessie Sebrell, Lutie Hindman, Bessie Rhodes. It has written Abstractors - Summit CO, Mahoying CO, The date 1888-1894 with Clare M. Cory(?) The date could be when they were born, or when they were with Clare Cory, or when the photo was taken. If someone believes this belongs to them, please let me know.
Carrie Lamparter Akron Ohio Photo
Mel Dove

Sarah F.Hindman(married name) with daughter Hester, in Tennessee

I think I may have found my g-g-grandmother, Sarah F. Hindman, in the 1870, Giles County, Tennessee census. It seems that she is head of household, with a daughter, Hester E., age 1. My g-grandmother was Hester E.Hindman (from her own notes). I THINK her father died and her mother re-married a man named Harrison. Somehow, they ended up in Delta or Lamar County, Texas. Anyone have any supporting information for this association?

JOHN & ANNIE HINDMAN IN TEXAS

Am searching for information on John and Annie Snellgrove Hindman who migrated from Alabama to Texas around 1900. Children included: Lottie who married a Cornett, Gertrude who married a Uehlinger, Ida Mae who married a Carruthers, Josephine, Joseph. All the children were born in Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., Alabama. Marriages of daughters would have taken place in Texas, I believe. From a will found in Alabama for one of John's brothers, John died in September 1935 in Texas. Help locating this family would be appreciated.

Hi,

I just posted an old ad for boarding placed by a Mrs. HINDMAN of Galveston, Texas. She offered permanent or transient board, "with or without rooms." Her address was 150 Winnie St., corner of Ave. G and 22nd St.

This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of Flake's Daily Bulletin newspaper dated February 27, 1868, and you can see it online here:

http://theoldentimes.com/hindman-boarding68galvtx.html

I hope it's helpful!

Barbara
http://theoldentimes.com
Hindman, NW Pa, Spring creek Twp., Elk county, Pa

I'm Putting together a booklet about once rural school teachers of Elk County and adjoining counties to Elk and the surname Hindman has shown up several times. As early as June of 1856 the Hindman surname appears on a list of teachers once of Millstone Twp., Elk County - Mrs. Hindman (?) and M.F. Hindman.. The Dec 5, 1901 list of teachers who attended the Spring Creek Twp. teachers Institue includes the name, Mary Hindman, as teaching at the "very rural" school named Perrin School. Mary Hindman's name appears again on the list of Dec. 3, 1903 as a teacher in Hallton, Spring Creek Twp. After 1903 her name does not appear on any of the lists as a teacher. I could have missed seeing her name but it's very possible she left the area or perhaps her surname changed because she married. I would like to learn more about the Hindmans, once rural school teachers, and will be very willing to share whatever I have about these former teachers but unfortunately other than their names that's all I have presently.

Luella Hindman, born abt 1873, dau. of William & Adeline

I have an original photograph of Luella Hindman, which I would like to get back in the hands of family members. Photo was taken in LaSalle (LaSalle Co.) IL in about 1890. Luella looks to be about 17, this age is verified by the 1930 census of Lyons (Cook Co.) IL where she (age 57) is with her mother Adeline (84) in the home of her brother Boyden E. Hindman. An obituary online shows that Boyden's father was William Hindman (1843-1915) who died in LaSalle, IL, and it says that his daughter Luella was a teacher.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net.

Hindman in Tennessee and Texas

My great-grandmother was Hettie (Hester) Hindman, and her obituary lists her birthplace as Knoxville, TN in 1869. I have her marriage license issued in Delta County, Texas, in May, 1887, when she was married to J.C. Joslin. Her obituary also states that her brothers who survived her (in 1954) were O.W. Harrison of Amarillo and J.A. Harrison of Cooper, TX, and a sister, Mrs. E. C. Holcomb of Cooper, TX. I was told by a cousin that Hettie's mother was remarried to a Harrison after her father died. I am searching for any information on Hettie's parents, family, etc.

Kinsey JOHNSON was the son of Brinkley JOHNSON from Sussex County DE. Who was Brinkley's father and siblings?
After Kinsey's death, two of his three children were raised by his sister, Sarah HINDMAN in Randolph County, Illinois.

Family lore has Kinsey dying with a connection to the Civil War, but I can find no record of his service, although I do find records for his two eldest sons, Richard Duke and James McKinsey. The story also has his sister, Sarah JOHNSON HINDMAN, going somewhere to bring him back to Randolph County, but his probate file contains bills for his final medical care and expenses. Can anyone shed light on this?

I also am researching the Hindman Family. My Grandmother was Martha Hindman, born 8 Jan 1815, Brookville, Franklin, Indiana. Married John Cox 1834. Martha's father was Andrew Hindman, born in Ireland? Do these names and places sound like your family? I hope you can help me with this line. Thank you very much! Doris

The Arner Family Association seeks descendants of:

BERNICE SYBIL HINDMAN, George Sheldon Arner, 1897-1978, Washington, Butler, PA.

You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhard, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L@rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you.
I am searching for info about Lucinda Hindman (born about 1865 in SC according to the 1910 census). She was married to William (Bill) Redden around 1887, probably in GA. If we can believe the 1910 Etowah Co. AL census, he was 35 years older than she was. All of their children were born in GA including the last one born in 1890. William and Lucindy Redden are buried at Bethany Church Cem. in Reece City, AL. I will appreciate any help on this Hindman family. Thanks

Hello. My name is Jennifer Hindman and I am from South Carolina. I am very interested in my family history on my father's side of the family. My grandfather passed away before I was born and my grandmother passed away about two years ago. I would like to know any information that anyone may have on my family, where they originated, and anyone that may be long-lost family friends. My grandmother's name was Shirley Hindman and she lived on a farm in Fort Lawn, S.C. I don't know my grandfather's name. No one in my family really talks about our relatives that have passed. My grandmother was a very interesting woman, but she passed away much sooner than any of us expected. Please help me, i would greatly appreciate any information that anyone is willing to offer.Thank-You.
