Eugene A Hines (1855-1938) and his wife Zeruah

Classification: Query
Surnames: Hines, Oliver, Crandall
I'm looking for more information about Eugene A Hines (1) and his wife Zeruah (2). Based on information from cousins on my dad's side, I'd had Zeruah's parents listed as Albert Porter Oliver and Sarah Ann Crandall. Once I looked closer at the census records, the basis of this assumption was rooted in one of their children listed on the 1870 and 1880 census with a name that LOOKS like Zeruah, but is marked as being male, a son, both times. If it had been only once, it might have been an error on the census taker's part, but twice suggests that the assumed family connection is wrong.

I know that I have Zeruah's first name spelled correctly - because that is how it appears on her headstone (3) - but numerous census records and city directories have her name spelled incorrectly throughout the years. This makes it even more difficult to find out who her parents were.

From the 1900 Census (4) I know that Zeruah's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother was born in New York. But that's still a wide net to cast, so I'm hoping that someone else who is a descendant has the information I'm looking for.
