The Deed of gift – Witnesseth That I John Hinkle of the county of Franklin in the State of Missouri have this day in consideration of the natural love and affection that I bear to my son Isaac Hinkle of the county of Franklin and the State of aforesaid and for the further consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand hence fore paid by the said Isaac the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge and the said Isaac hereby forever discharged has granted, bargained and sold and do by these presents, grant bargain, sell, convey and deliver unto the said Isaac Hinkle and to his heirs and assigns forever the following negro Slaves for life, named as follows to wit, Silvey a woman aged about forty four years, Sally a woman aged about thirty two years, George a man aged about twenty two years, Abram a boy aged about seventeen years, King a boy aged about fifteen years, Soloman a boy aged about nine years, James (?) a boy aged about six years, Ann a girl aged about one year , Martha a girl aged about three years. To have and to hold the (?) above named Slaves with their increase to him the said Isaac Hinkle and to his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Hinkle do for himself his heirs (?) administrators warrant and forever defend the right and title to the said Slaves from the claims of all persons whomsoever unto him the said Isaac Hinkle and his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony where of I have here witnesseth my hand and seal this the second day of November Eighteen hundred and forty four.
