William Watters is my 3rd great grandparent (maternal). I have also found Elizabeth and Polly were sisters and Elizabeth married Burrell Brittain after William and Polly's death. But, I found a Jacob Hinton and Mary P. Bradford on Ancestry to be Elizabeth & Polly's mom & dad. I haven't pursued that avenue so it might not be correct. Worked mostly on the Watters family. The Watters are buried in the William Watters Family Cemetery in Fayettville, AL.

Hello fello Hinton researchers,Erin and who ever else is following this line. Erin You made a comment about the Hinton name being a rare name I didnt think it so rare I have been doing hinton research for over 10 years and have not ran out of hintons to research and am still finding more every time I look which has not been to often these days. But any way I am from a line of hinton that came from England or farther back france and from what my DNA research has found out that my line of hintons are of Scandinavian descent. Do you know if any of your oldest ancestors came from North Caroliana Johnston Co.possibly
have any of your Male hintons had a DNA test done?
John Hinton Jr.

This is great! Eli-Ellet-Earl-Willa-Tim-Ashley (me) is the line I am descended from. I live right down the road from the old Ebenezer Cemetary. I can take pictures if you need anymore. :) I have only gotten back to William Hinton (1666) and Mary Egerton (1671). Does that sound right? My Grandmother (Willa) is still alive. She has told me many stories about the family. I look forward to collaborating more with you!

Ashley

I am fairly certian that Meshack Hinton and his brother Shadrack were sons of John and Margaret Hinton of Montgomery Co., MD. and grandsons of Thomas Hinton and Rachel Howard. Margaret, wife of John Hinton (as named in Frederick Co., Land Deeds), seems to have been related to Shadrack Hyatt who died in 1761 in Frederick Co., and may have been either Else or Martha, daughters named in his estate settlment. Meshack probably had a brother John who settled in Bedford Co., PA and had a large family there, and a sister Rachel who married Uriah Layton and possibly a sister Mary.

His parents were Jennie Walker and Thomas Hinton. I have no further names after that. My grandmother however, her parents were Belton Carter and Susie Watson. Susie Watson's parents were Julia Ann Watson and John Gaines. Juliah Ann Watson's father was Swany Hazel. That is all I have. I may have answered your post prematurely.
Elizabeth Hinton md. William Watters - daughter of Isaac Hinton?

Elizabeth Hinton, b 1786, married William Watters. When he died, she married Burrell Britain, widower of her sister Polly. Those facts I have been able to verify. I believe Elizabeth and Polly were granddaughters of John Hinton and Mary Hardy, through one of their sons. I am to the point that I believe the son that is their father may be Isaac, but cannot find an online will abstract to verify it. Can anyone give me any info about this family - Isaac and his wife Elizabeth, their children, his death and her possible remarriage to his brother John? Also, did Isaac and John's brother Joseph have any children? I would really appreciate any assistance.
