Hipple's

I just found this site. My maiden name was Hipple...thought it was a uncommon name. Think I might start shaking up the family tree... looks interesting. Grandfather was Clarence wife Bertha, with 3 sons Robert, David Dennis. Anyone have any hints of where to begin?

My records show that most Hipples in this country are descended from three brothers, Lawrence, Jacob and Adam, who emigrated to Pennsylvania from Germany via Canada around 1749. Your best bet is to talk to your older relatives to try to trace back the names of the different generations in your branch. The farther back you can go, the more links there are. Good luck!

I am a descendant of Jacob Hipple and I would like to find out more information on how they came to the United States. My grandfather had information that they spoke German and were from area around Perry Co. Pa. Jacob Morey Hipple (1822-1901) was his Grandfather and he wrote some interesting information about the family. I would love to correspond with anyone who has knowledge on this family.

Hi Joyce (should i say cousin)
I would also like to correspond about our Hipple roots. Jacob Morey Hipple may have been my Gr-gr-gr grandfather, or my gr-gr-gr-uncle - it is unclear. His parents were Jacob Hipple and Sarah Morey. My family records say he was born June 9, 1823 in Chester Co., PA. In 1831, the family moved to Warren, Ohio where he learned English and forgot German. The Hipples remained in Northeast Ohio until very recently. What is your Grandfather's name? What is his lineage?
Nice to hear from you, Karen

I have an 1800's newspaper clipping about my ggrand-uncle, Mr. John Hipple, born in Perry County. He had 2 sons, William Jesse. There must be some connection there. Are any of these names among the ones in your family stories?

my father is Charles Wilemon Hipple Sr. (Tx)
02/03/1948
his father was Robert William Hipple (Tx)
03/09/1916-06/17/1988
Robert William Hipple's father was William Hipple who was orphaned and i believe grew up in New Jersey.
Robert William Hipple's mother was the former Robbie Louise Wood who moved to Texas and brought her son Robert William and daughter Evantha to Texas.
I would like to know if anyone knows anything about this William Hipple (my great grandfather), who was orphaned as a child. thanks for your help

I have a very old newspaper clipping about a William H. Hipple who was originally from the Philadelphia, Pa., area, and was relocated to Texas "to assume the duties of master mechanic of the motive power department of the Texas and Pacific Railway Company. It also contains a poem that he wrote about Texas. This was probably some time between the 1880's 1900. Does any of this sound familiar to you? If you think it's the same person, I can send you a copy of the article. (boxobuttons@home.com)

Linda,
I would love to contact you via email. I have a picture of your great great grandfather Lorenzo Dow and his child "Little Wren". They are just photo copies but I would be happy to share than with you. My Grandfather Clyde Jacob Bearce's mother was Pluma Hipple .(Clyde was my mother's father.) He left me a fairly good geneaology and some pictures that were photocopied from other family members. I am in Florida at present and without family records but can give you some info.
