My mother's maiden name was Hight and have been doing research on our family. The earliest info that I have was copied from an old Bible said that a Jacob Hight who was a Lutheran minister in the Trenton/Hightstown, NJ region was a descendant of immigrants from Alsace-Lorrraine. The info goes on an states that three brothers came from Alsace prior to the Revolutionary War and one settled in NY, one in NJ and the latter in VA. Does any of this info match with other Hight's and various spellings of the name?
