I've been doing some research on the Hightower family. If my search is accurate, I've traced back to where the Hightower name started off as Itower while they were in Essex England in the 1500 and 1600's, Then turns into Hitower around 1620's give or take a few years and around 1640's it's Hightower. Does anyone know the reason for this change or where I could find the reason for the changing of the name? Thank you
