My lineage has been traced back as far as Johan Hoffman of Germany (1371 - 1479), Rector of University of Leipzig (with thanks to my aunt E. Reich who found the compilation by John Claborne Huffman {my thanks to him}).

Interestingly, both my father and my mother were descendants, as they discovered after marriage, a GG-grandfather in common. They turned out to be 2nd cousins once-removed. My family is from NC.
