I have gone back and forth and found little on a
Charles Holcombe/Holcomb - b about 1830 d about 1885 (from ages on census and civil war records)

I know he married Amanda (who LDS records show as Amanda De Hereine which I have no other proof for that name) between census 1850 and the 1860 census (1860 census he already has 3 children, oldest being Charles age 6).

In the 1850 census I found Charles (age 20) living in the George McCormick (wife Hannah) household in Richmond, Philadelphia. While this would not mean much I also found another McCormick household (Benjamin McCormick wife Jane) in Philadelphia with a Hester Holcomb (age 22) and Anna M Holcombe (age 17) living there. Not sure of any connection but seems too coincidental.

I am truly lost and would appreciate any help or direction in my search. Thanks in advance for any direction anyone can offer me to find his father or any information at all. I appreciate it.
