I'm a hollan with out the D also and from the research that mt family has done over the years it appears that the D was droped from the hollan name in Mt. home ar. in the mid 1800's by william hollan

Trying to find Hollan relatives in Arkansas and Louisiana.
My great great grandfather was Johnathan Hollan. In the 1900 census I find his family living in Brown, Arkansas ( Columbia County ) His wife is listed as Zudia. His children listed as Ophelia, C. Leonard, Varana, Audie, Donnie, Ivia, ( my great grandfather ), Leondrous, and Alvin.
I know that when my Ivy died his body was taken to Minden, Louisiana for burial alongside his family.
Johnathan was bron in 1858. Looking for anything.

Do you find either of these names in your Hollan genealogy? I am looking for my mother, Mary Elizabeth Shaw's, first husband. I thought his last name was Vollmer, but my aunt thinks it was Hollan, and was pretty sure his first name was Dick. Also, Dick had a brother Redel. I think they might have been from Texas, since that is where my mother first went when she left Kansas. Any information would be appreciated.

I am just starting my search for Hollan family, too. I found a lot of information in the LDS files that are on-line. I don't know if this helps, but I think it is worth looking at. Most of the Hollans that I know about ended up in DeWitt County, Texas by the middle of the 1800's.

My great grandfather, Vaclav/Vansal Holan came to the US in 1869. He and his family first lived in PA and by 1880 had moved to Nemaha County, Kansas. The 1880 census has his name as Vansal Holland. His death certificate, in 1916, listed his name was Vaclav Holan. I know others are having the same problem with different spellings. His wife's name was Veroneka; his children Joseph, John, Frank, Anna, Terricia, Mary, and Marget. There was also Rasa (his mother?) living with them in 1880.

Looking for my father's father and mother both from Norway settled in North Dakota, I believe aroung Fargo. Peter Hollan was his father who must have been born between 1863 through 1882. His wife's name was Christina Jorgenson
it is belived. My father Oscar Martin Hollan had 6 or 7 brothers and/or sisters. All the family members were Lutherans. My father left home as a teenager and went to California and had little contact with his family. He died at age 47 when I was 12 years old.
