-------------------------
I've been researching Thomas Harrison, b. about 1730 in Virginia and d.
aft. 1809 in Andersonville, Anderson County, South Carolina. To complicate
matters, there appear to be TWO Thomas Harrisons who were heads of household
in the Old 96th District in 1790, one of whom appears to be a son of James
Harrison and Elizabeth Hampton. I've found the information by the Mannings
in their book to be erroneous as they have this Thomas as a member of the
prestigious Benjamin Harrison Family of Berkely Plantation. Not so.
I noticed that none of this line is on the Bonner Repository of Harrisons.
My Thomas married Caty (said by some to be an Earle, but I've found absolutely
no proof one way or another of her lineage) and had the following children:
Mary "Polly" or "Dolly" Harrison who m. Jacob Holland, Benjamin who married
Elizabeth Cleveland, William who m. Elizabeth ?, John, Thomas, Jr., Nancy
and Robert.
Most of my information comes from Pendleton District, SC Deeds 1790-1806,
as compiled by Betty Willie. Thomas is said to be buried in the Andersonville
Cemetery, Andersonville, SC. Does anyone have further information on this
particular branch of Harrisons?
