I'm looking for help with the ancestry of Sarah J. Hollister, about whom my best information is: born 7 Oct 1828 in Oswego County, NY; died 10 Oct 1914, Oswego County; married Delos Murgittroyd (1820-84); had at least 5 children: Monroe, Marinda, Lorenzo, Carolyn, Mary. (I'm descended through Lorenzo.)

I do not know who Sarah's parents (or, obviously, anyone up the line) were, although some censuses list her parents as having been born in CT.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

And if this helps: many Murgittroyd family trees cite a "Hollister family history" (not sure which one; no one I've contacted knows) as making comments on the death of Sarah/Delos's son Lorenzo (something about getting sick while working in PA oil industry, returning to NY to die). Lorenzo D. Murgittroyd was born in 1854 or 1857, died in 1895, was married to Isabel[le] Auborn/Auburn, and apparently consistent with references to the "Hollister family history," they did live in PA, return to NY (somewhere near Syracuse), where he died, and then Isabel[le] returned to PA.
