Funeral Tues., Nov. 23, 11 a.m. from Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 7456 Manchester Ave. Interment St. Francis [sic] Memorial Park Cemetery, Bonne Terre, Mo. Deceased was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

Note: Lida Hollon (nee Cloud) was born in Bonne Terre, St. Francois County, MO on March 16, 1900 the daughter of Liza Gibbons and Marion Elisha Cloud. Liza Gibbons, b. 1877 d. 1900 was the daughter of Micheal Gibbons and Margaret Garrett who both died in Bonne Terre, MO June 2, 1899 and May 28, 1899 respectively. After Liza Gibbons 1900 death, Marion Elisha Cloud married Laura Henson and had more children. I am searching for Lida Hollon's sister Etheline/Ethelean Cloud's death date and location. I know Etheline married Leonard Beck and lived in St. Louis but I cannot find her death date, burial location, etc. so I can order a death certificate or obit. Any help would be appreciated.

I am your direct relative! I knew the people you're talking about! Dulcina is my Great Aunt Dulcina, I met her when I was about 10. I also met Clifford too. Doesn't he have a son?

I'm from MI, and I'm the grandaughter of Hargis Hollon, I believe Dulcinas brother. Hargis Hollon moved to MI after the Korean War and married Velna Carswell.

I am Hargis Hollon's granddaughter. My grandfather moved from KY to MI after the Korean war. We are related to the sloanes but I'm not sure how, will have to check with my mother. I know my mothers middel name is Rose, and she was named after her paternal granmother. Could this possibly be Rosanna Sloane?

That would be LeGrand H. Hollon, Apr 1847 - 24 Dec 1933, son of Arnold & Caroline Hollon. He married Elizabeth Nancy Brown, daughter of John M. and Jane Sybil (Coffin) Brown. His Obituary reads:

Utica Observer-Dispatch, Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1933
Herkimer - Legrand Hollon, 86, retired pharmecist, died Sunday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital of pneumonia.
He was born in Altmar, April, 1847, and came to Herkimer about 38 years ago, when he opened a pharmacy which he conducted in Herkimer's business section until about 18 years ago, when he retired.
He married Elizabeth Brown of Altmar, who died 3 years ago. There were two children, Legrand Jr. and Blanche, who are deceased. He leaves one grandson, Paul Bell, Brooklyn.
Mr. Hollon was a member of Canastoia Lodge, F. & A.M., and of the Herkimer Down and Out Club.

Try researching William Randolph Hollon of Hollonville, GA around 1850-60. His family line winds up in Delta Co Texas around the same time as your family. Some of the names are the same as well. William Randolph is my gr-gr grandfather, but this is not a line I have researched. If you find a connection, I can put you in touch with a cousin who has done quite a bit of research.

I don't have those names but am looking for the family of Emmie Ocie Hollon b1910 d 2002 (buried in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Autauga County, AL. Emmie married Alex Yeargan Hull. Hollon/Hollan/Holland in Owsley, Breathitt Co, KY

Looking for info on my great-great grandfather, Bud Hollon. I'm not sure if Bud was his real name or a nick-name. He was born around 1865-70 in KY. He married Lucille/Seallie Caudill/Caudle who was born around 1873 in KY. They are on the 1920 and 1930 Census in Breathitt Co. Their son, Clifton, married Nannie Belle Horne in Owsley Co, KY. My grandmother, Lola Hollon Keller, says that she remembers that he had a brother George and a sister Fannie, possibly other siblings, too.
Does anyone have any information on Bud Hollon's parents? I have found many other Hollons in the Breathitt/Owsley/Wolfe Co, KY areas, but I cannot make a connection. Any help would be great appreciated.

James, My grandfather was John Hollon who married Mary Jane Oaks. They had nine children three of which died as children. They were Alice, Edna, and James. So far I have been unable to find out any information on these three. No birth or death certificates and nowhere in any census records. Have you heard of these three children? Any help would be appreciated.

There are three separate Hollon/Holland lines. Clay Hollon's line and Sion Hollon. The third is one I am working on. Albert's parents were Samuel Hollon and Sarah Beadles both from Boyles/Mercer County Kentucky. Samuel's parents were from Virginia Territory, Lincoln County, Kentucky. Hopefully soon I will have an intensive Web Site for this line.

LaDoris, I am also a granddaughter of Bernie Verne Hollon. My Mother is Mary Louise Hollon Macy, her brothers were Leonard Verne Hollon and John Robert (Jack)Hollon. Nancy Hollon is my cousin.
