I would like to invite any male Holte to join us in the Family Tree DNA Y chromosome Holt surname project. We welcome variant spellings of the surname Holt and already have one Holte member. Since the Y chromosome is passed down from father to son every generation along with the surname unchanged, it is possible to find relatives by comparing the Y chromosome profiles of our membership. So the more Holte members that we get (and others that have changed their name spellings to other variants) the better chances we have of matching someone and furthering our research.
