Thank you so much.
Do know how this group of Holzer is related to Conrad Holzer (1806-1890) wife Elizabeth (1807-1895) buried at St Michael's and his sister Eve (1791-ca 1870) who also married a Peter Pack (not the same). Just trying to connect all the branches to each other.

Looking for information on the parents of Margaret Holzer,
born 29 Aug 1873 in Mt Oliver, Pennsylvania, died 15 July 1936 in Pittsburgh. She married Peter Pack (1867-1924) on 11 Oct 1892 in Pittsburgh.

I thought her father was John (who lived next door to her and Peter), but some other information shows her father as George.
Does anyone have information on this??
Thanks

Dear Monika,

I have just seen you postings and wonder if you could please help me. My name is David Holder because my father changed it but my grandfather was Moritz Holzer born 13/12/1893 in Peskow (now Byelorussia I think) but who then moved to Vienna where my father Curtis Holzer was born. He married his first or second cousin Hani Huppert. Moritz was the youngest of 13 but we are only in touch with one of these siblings - I have no information about the others. If you have any information, I would be very grateful.

David Holder

Adele Holzer, Lina Ratzek and Anthony Suchanek

I'm looking for more information on Adele Holzer. She's is also listed as Adele Ratzek in some places I've seen. She arrived to New York from Bremen, Germany on September 12, 1868. She was initially indexed as Adele Holger, but this is a typo. She arrived with a Lina Ratzek, who I presume was her sister. The index lists them arriving from "Wrin", which is very likely a typo also. It's more likely "Wien", which is Vienna, Austria.

She married Anthony Suchanek/Suchaneck shortly after her arrival and can be seen on later census sheets as Adele Suchaneck, in Minnesota, then California.

I'm searching for further information about her.

For any distant relatives or fellow researchers, you can see further information about her on my genealogy website.

http://www.matthollingsworth.net/genealogy/

Thanks for any and all help.

-Matt Hollingsworth

My gg - Maria Anna (Mary) Berenka (sp?) married a Joseph Holzer from Strassburg Russia. I don't know if they married in Russia or in North Dakota. Emigrated to N. D. c. 1907. I believe Joseph's father was also Joseph and he had a brother Anton and also perhaps Johanne. I have a picture of my gg and Joseph taken at a studio in Linton, N.D. Joseph died at Bismarck, N.D. in the fall of 1919 and is buried at the old St. Mary's Cemetery in Hague. Re: Holzer history - I have seen reference to a publication called "It Started with Joseph" by Deicher. Does anyone know of it?

Hi Karen,

Thanks for replying. I'm sure there's relation somewhere. The
Christ Kober I have is my Great-Aunt Sophie Brack Kober's son. My Kober's are on the Brack & Holzer sides, because of Marie Kober, (Sophie's daughter) marrying my Grandpa's brother (Hank Holzer). Marie and Henry Holzer had many children, and one is Clifford Holzer and he is still living. The only Kober relatives that I know are still alive ( of the older ones) are Henry Gabby(Hank, Heinie) Kober, (lives in sheboygan with his wife Delores), maybe Christ Kober ( lived in Kenosha and was first married to a woman named Ruth. When she died, he married a Kaiser woman.), And I know that Gottleib (George) Kober died and was married to a woman named Benetta. They had lived in West Bend. She also died. I will be checking out cemeteries this summer. If you or anyone finds anymore information, please post it. All of the Brack's on the message board are not mine. I've searched them all. : ) Thanks!
Wendy:

I found something that might interest you - it's a German's from Russia, 1920 US Census, Sheboygan County, WI.

From this document it looks as my grandmother, Sophia Kober Rasch (daughter of Gottleib & Marie Kober) would have been a cousin to your Marie Kober. I remember my grandmother telling me that the reason she & her family came to the US & Sheboygan was because her father's two (2) brothers had come before them & lived in Sheboygan. My grandmother also had a sister, Marie Kober, who eventually married Christ Hubert & resided in Sheboygan until she died.

It appears to me from looking at this census that John Kober, Christ Kober, & Gottleib Kober would have been brothers.

My grandmother's family eventually moved to Racine & then Kenosha where they farmed. Children of Gottleib & Marie were: Sophia Kober Rasch (my grandmother), Henrich (Henry) Kober, Gottleib Kober, Jr., Marie A. Kober Hubert, Elizabeth Alice Kober Schneider, John Kober, Jacob Kober, Christ Kober, & Harold Kober. All are deceased with the exception of Elizabeth, who resides in Racine & is in her 90's, & Christ, who lives in Kenosha & is in his 80's.

So, it looks as if we are related somewhere down the line. It's quite interesting once you start digging into your family history. You may want to check out the census, as the name of Brack appears on the listing also. Web page - www.webbitt.com/volga/WI-sheboygan-cty.txt

Regards,
Karen Gahart

My 3rd Great Grandmother was Theresia Holzer 1822-1912. She was born in Germany. She married Clemens MAYER (MEYER, MYER) Sept. 1847 in Canada. They ended up in Shakopee Scott Co MN. She & Clemens are buried at St. John the Baptist Calvary Cemetery and, according to a cemetery transcription, so are Albertine HOLZER 1828-1908 and Constantin HOLZER 1828-1900. I don't know who these 2 indviduals are, but would like any information. Also, searching for Theresia's parents names. Her death cert. identifies her as Theresia Wamberger MYER.

Christian HOLZER was born 01/26/1895 in Bern Switzerland.

I have found him as a butler in New York on the WWI draft registration rolls in 1917, on the 1930 census with my aunt, and with a NY address but employed by MacDonald Logging Co, in Ketchikan, AK in the WWII rolls in 1942. Have not found him on 1920 census.

Per SSDI, he died in Seattle, WA in 1972.

Would be interested in any Holzer family who might know of Christian.

AnneMarie
Hi! I had sent an email to you. I'm not sure if you have received it. It looks like we are the only ones with Holzer relation in Sheboygan. My mother was a Holzer. Her name is Lois. Her Father is Carl Holzer married to Rosina (Rose) Brack. Both have since died. And his Father is Carl Holzer married to Amalia Krueger. My mother has 2 Brothers and 1 Sister, Kenneth, Lillian and Carl Phillip. My Uncle Carl has a Son Carl Mark and a Daughter Tracy. Uncle Kenny has 4 Children, Renee, Randy, Rochelle, and Ronda. Lois is now a Ninmer and Lilly is now a Steinhaus. Great-Grandpa Carl had a Twin Brother named Phillip. He lived in Chicago. He had a daughter named Olga who became a dress designer. There is also my mother's Aunt Katie (Marie Katherine) who is her Father's Sister. My Mother's Father also had a Brother Henry and a Brother David. They actually came from Basel, Russia on the Volga River. They came to the U.S. in 1916-1918 and landed at Ellis Island. They lived in Minnesote for awhile and then moved to Sheboygan where the stayed. There might have been more children that died before coming to america. I hope this helps. If you have anything to add please do so. I am still searching. Wendy

I just forund out while building a Family Tree that my Grandpa, Carl Holzer, from Basil, Russia had a Brother Henry Holzer who was married to a Mary Kober. And there is also a Sophie Kober mentioned. are buried at the Lutheran Cemetary in Sheboygan, WI. There are supposed to be Holzers, Bauers, Kobers all buried around each other. My Aunt knows almost all the History. Wendy

Hi Jean: I would be interested who your HOLZER's are. My husband is a descendant of Frederick Adam Holzer b. 02-02-1824 in Baden, Germany. His wife was Elizabeth M. Bettinger b. 03-10-1823 in Germany. Please let me know if we are working on the same family. Thank you, Anmarie Holzer

I am seeking information on Conrad Paul Holzer who married Suzanne Soenneken of Los Angeles, California. Suzanne's father Herbert was a cousin to my grandfather. I believe that they lived in the Van Nuys area but I am unable to find them there. Thank you.
