My Dad is called Paul James Homewood and was born in London 6/2/51 my Grandad was Roy Cyril Homewood and was born 17/3/22 (I think), I believe his Grandad came from Ireland but I dont have anymore info..
If anyone can help me go further back or search for relatives help would be appreciated..

Harriett Homewood mar Richard Fredrick Chappell

Harriett Homewood was my great grandfathers sister, born 30/06/1870 in bermondsey. I know she married Richard Fredrick Chappell in 1890 and had a daughter Harriett Chappell in 1891. I have no idea what happend to this part of my family. I have traced my Homewood tree back to Thomas Homewood born abt 1757 in Bletchingley, surrey. Most of our Homewoods spent the 18th/19th cent's in Bermondsey.

I have Thomas Homewood 1725-1814 of Maidstone, Kent, Eng. who married Jane Luckhurst during 1750. Their 8 children are Thomas, Isaac, Thomas, Samuel, James, Susannah, Thomas, and James. Two of the Thomas' and a James died as infants.

The last son James 1763-1820 married Elizabeth Munk in Smarden during 1793. They had 7 children: James, Elizabeth, Isaac, Edward, Frances, Thomas, and Anne.

James and Elizabeth Homewood's son James 1794-1859 married Harriot Wood in Smarden, Kent, Eng. during 1817. They had 8 children: Charles, Harriet, Emma, William, Edward, Elizabeth, James, and Emmeline.

The son William 1823-1890 married Frances Drury in Maidstone during 1852. They had 17 children: William, Elizabeth, James, Thomas, Kate, Arthur, Lewin, Charles, Frank, Frances, Archibald, Ernest, Percival, Walter, Solomon, Drury, and Walter. William, Frances and family moved to Newark, Delaware, USA in 1872. Some of the children were born in Kent, England and some in Delaware.

The daughter Elizabeth 1856-1913 married Joseph Dean in Newark, Delaware during 1880. Any information on this family in Kent, England is appreciated.

Fletching Sussex or Rotherfield Sussex in 17th/18th or
19th Century please let me know.
I have got a family line back to 1640 (John Homewood)
but many gaps that need filling in.

John and Elizabeth Homewood of North Cray Kent

On 1881 Census it states John, age 45 born 1836 Chiselhurst Kent, wife Elizabeth aged 44,
Children Henry age 17, Clara aged 13, William age 7yrs, John aged 5 years, and Alfred aged 3 years.
Place of Abode, Rats Nest, Chislehurst Kent.
Clara may have married a Palmer.
All children except Alfred born in North Cray Kent accroding to Census.
Anyone know what Rats Nest is, or any descendants on this family would be helpful.

TOWN OF WATERSTOWN

JAMES B. HOMEWOOD, farmer; P. O. Blue River; was born in Kent, Eng., June 12, 1829; he is a son of Edward and Elizabeth (Buss) Homewood; came to America in 1842, locating at Summit Co., Ohio; remaining one year, he returned to Chautauqua Co., N. Y., where he engaged in farming; came to Wisconsin in 1867, and bought the farm upon which he now lives. He was married in the State of New York, in 1859, to Miss Sarah Galoway, who was born in Ireland, but came to America when 10 years old; they have five children living - four sons and one daughter. Mr. Homewood has always been a persevering, industrious man, and a much-respected citizen.

Josiah B Homewood, a Master Mariner, born in London 1819, emigrated to Philadelphia in 1846 and married Susan ? , born Delaware in about 1820. They had two children, both born in Philadelphia, a daughter Mary E, born about 1849 and a son Charles born in 1851. The family returned to England sometime before 1860.
My question is how or where can I find more details of his stay in America? For example, the maiden name of his wife, dates of children's birth and their address, date of return to England.
I have searched Ancestry.com databases without any luck other than brief details in the 1850 census and his entry to the US

James (born 1824 Rotherhithe, surrey) seems to have travelled to Clunes, Victoria, Australia and married Elizabeth Allen in 1857.
I know they had 4 children, Christopher (1857), Margaret (1861), Eliza (1864) and William James (1876)

I would love to know more about what happend to them, and if I have any relatives their now!

John Thomas HOMEWOOD, son of John Henry HOMEWOOD was born in 1903. I'm not sure exactly where he was born yet, but in 1922 he joined the Royal Corps of Singals in Chichester, and when he got married in 1929 he was living in Brighton, so I suspect he was born somewhere on the south coast. He married Dorothea Winifred GREIG. Anyone with connections please contact me.

My grandfather's name was Reuben Homewood. His father's name was Ira Homewood and his father's name was James Homewood. James had a brother named William that got seperated from him on the journey over. It seems that he settled somewhere up north. My GGGrandfather, James married Annie Sorrells.
