I am a Humiston descendant, Mom was one, and I have the Humiston genealogy by George and Louise Humiston on computer. I add to it as I go along. We are Humiston, Humason, Humeston, and now Homiston. Just recently we found Joseph Homiston who was a physician in the Civil War. This Joseph would be the grandfather of Joseph that is the father of Hollis. I have placed him and the rest of his line in the main file and I can take you back to Henry Humberstone from England. Did the father of Hollis die or did his mother leave and take the family back home? The 1910 census says that Hollis was born in New Zealand. Seems to be a lot of unanswered questions here. I couldn't read the name of Hollis' sister.

HOMINSTON EZRA W 50 M W NY NY KINGS 22-WD BROOKLYN 1910
1910 > NEW YORK > KINGS > 22-WD BROOKLYN
Series: T624 Roll: 971 Page: 89
Ezra Hominston, head, age 50, married once 28 years, born NY, father born MA, mother NY, physician
Adele L., wife, age 49, married once 28 years, mother of 1 child living, born New Jersey, father born England, mother NY
Joseph M., son, age 27, married once 6 years, born NY
Catharine C., daughter-in-law, age 27, married once 6 years, born Scotland, mother of 3 children, 3 living, parents born Scotland
J ean or ian, D., granddaughter, age 5, born NY
Warren M., grandson, age 2, born ????
Hollis H., grandson, age 11 months, born New Zealand, father born NY

Sure hope we make contact,
Phyllis in Missouri, U.S.A.
