Hone Family of Philadelphia

I am seeking information on the Hones family who lived in Philadelphia in the late 1880's into the 20th century. Some members of the family changed the name to Hines. However, we found a Patrick and Mary Hone who were godparents to one of the children of Frank and Mary Hone/Hines in 1888. The Hone family I am researching originated in Donegal Ireland.

Hone Family in Kennington/Clapham/Brixton

my gg grandmother was Caroline Hone born about 1833 in Brixton. I have found her baptism at Holy Trinity church in Clapham, to George and Emma. Her marriage certificate states her father to be Henry George Hone, a Carman.
I believe I have found the family in the 1841 census transcribed as Rone. They were living in Smith Street Kennington and both George (presume Henry George) and Emma were born outside of Surrey. The following children were living with them, all born in Surrey...
Sarah born 1816, Maria born 1826, Henry born 1829, Adelaide born 1831 Caroline born 1834 and Eliza born 1840. IGI also shows the birth of John in 1818 and states the parents of some of the above to be George Hone and Emma Rudd or Rood. By 1851 Emma is a widow and her place of birth looks to be Hamble in Hampshire. Does anyone have a clue where Henry George may have been born? I cannot locate a birth marriage or death record for him. At the same church in Clapham were baptised other Hone children from different families, who were possibly relations. The fathers of these children were James (& wife Elizabeth), William (& Wife Hannah), James (& wife Harriot)and George (& wife Mary).
Does this ring any bells with anyone?
Thanks for your help
Sue

Hone Confusion

Has anyone else reached a brick wall (using the LDS - Familysearch data) on two Hone marriages in late-18th C.

Henry HONE (b. 1750) married Mary COLLIER (b. 1754) in 1775. They are shown as having 9 children.
Henry HONE (b. 1755) married Mary GRAHAM (b. 1761). They are shown as having 8 children.
The problem is that 4 children (Hone/Graham) appear to be identical (to 4
from Hone/Collier) with respect to Christening dates, and
5were born after Henry Hone died. The localities are Horsell and Chobham.

There is one person (James HONE, b.1785) who could logically/in practice have been to either couple. He was my GGGrandfather.

I would welcome suggestions on how to resolve this.
Also has anyone heard of Carol Shade recently; I believe that her GGGrandmother was a child of one of these marriages but her "old" e-mail address does not work.
I'm trying to find confirmation of what my Aunt Kate is telling me about her grandmother Katharine (my great grandmother).

Katharine was the daughter of Robert Hone, who was the son of Philip Hone, the one time mayor of NYC and diarist.

I'm guessing Katharine would have been born in the 1860s.

But I have not been able to find anything yet that shows Katharine listed as one of the children of that Robert Hone.

Katharine Hone went on to marry Joseph Smith Auerbach,
the son of Dr. Julius Auerbach (brother of the German author Berthold Auerbach).

Any information at all would be much appreciated!
Hones in South Africa?

Hi -
I'm looking for info on the Hone family who moved from England to South Africa in the mid-1900's, then who moved to Philadelphia in the 60's and back again to SA in the 70's. I'd like to use a South African people search engine on the off-chance that the family still resides there, but am unable to find much specific to the area. I'm not so much interested in the ancestry as the living family. Any ideas on how to find current relatives would be much appreciated.

I have found a Henry Hone on the 1841 Census in the household of Humphrey Wickham (Lachurst Farm, Stone, Kent). It states he was 11 years old and not born in Kent. It doesn't say what his situation was within the household, but I am guessing he was a visitor. His name appears right after the family and just befor the servants.

Does anyone know who this child was?

Thanks
Louise
Connecticut, USA

Looking for information re: James F. Hone

James Findley (sp?) Hone married my great-grandmother, Amanda Emaline Offenbacher in the late 1800s, probably in OH or PA. Amanda was a school teacher, but I can't find anything about him. Their daughter, Nellie Belle, married James Wallace Buchanan in 1905 in DeGraff, OH. Does anyone have any information on James Hone or any relatives? Thanks.

Rezin Haun/Hone genealogy

Angela, Always great seeing your message in my mail. I've really been on the computer of late and still searching.
I may have some good news for us if what I have found FITS into our SEARCH.
I found Johannes Hahn, from Palatine (New York) married to Catharina RESUZIN. This surname may be my key to finding Rezin's parents. I have Johannes in the 1790 Census for Palatine (Montgomery Co, NY) but his last name was spelled Haan. No Surprise!!!! I think they had a son Johann born in 1790 and perhaps Georg and Barbara. There is still a lot of checking to do. I have to go to the LDS church in Columbia and try and find the 1800-10-20 census for that County. Unless they moved to Virginia before 1820 I doubt that they will be connected. That name RESUZIN sure got my attention.
That's the latest. If you would like to correspond with me on the computer. My email name:PABoy34@aol.com. Merry Christmas and a great new year to you and yours. Boyd

Thomas Hone born c.1818 to Thomas Hone and Elizabeth
(possibly PENN))
married to Eleanor DRAPER born c.1832 poss 19 Nov, 1832 at Wormleighton to John DRAPER and
Martha ?
Thomas and Eleanor were married on 27th December, 1853 in Wormleighton,
Warwickshire (where Eleanor was born) but their six children that I know of
where all born in Sibford Gower, Oxford. The Oldest I know of is my gg
grandmother Hannah who doesn't appear on the 1881 census as she had already
left home (alone I think) and travelled all the way to the other side of the
world (New Zealand)...she was born five years after Thomas and Eleanor were
married so their is a good chance their are previous children.
I have looked on the Warwick 1851 census for either/both Eleanor
DRAPER/Thomas HONE and have come away with nothing, we do not have Oxford
1851 Census, or any for 1861, 1871, 1891 readily available where I am so
cannot search these for any clues/answers!
Is anyone else searching this family, or know of any other children or their
where abouts in 1851. (There is one Ellen DRAPER in the Warwick census but
she was in Birmingham, aged 22, and born in Banbury Oxford, so she doesn't
seem to fit).
Any help, connections or relations are would be much appreciated and
welcomed.
Thank-You

Nicole

His children were: Christopher, David, Catherine, Harmonus, Henry, Jacob, Margaret, and William T. Locations that I know the children ended up include MN, WI, and VA. The name is found in records spelled as Hone/Haun/Hahn/Hohn but Hone is the name that carried on in our line. I wonder if there might be some connection to the Harmonus who lived in Canada...
