I accessed the FamilyHistory.com site through a the Daily Digest from PC World dated 1st April 1999. I discovered listings for "Honold" and "Honnold". From conversation with family members many years ago, I recall the double "n" spelling is common in San Francisco.
Aunt Laura Wiemann, sister of Henry William Honold, my late father, collected some history about the Honold family from a relative in Florida. It dated back to the 13th Century in France, progressed to Italy and next to Germany - Stuttgart. My grandparents - Honold & Lutz - immigrated to the USA, arrived through New York & New Orleans, and resided in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
I was born in April, 1942. I have a sister, who married into the Kroll family of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and who lives in Greendale, Wisconsin.
I reside in the Republic of Botswana.
I am interested to learn more about the Honold family's history.
Best Regards . . .
