James A. Hopkins, age 54,
of Erie died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Golden Living Center. He was born June 30, 1953 in Whitefish, Montana to the late Dominic Hopkins and Lorna Hopkins-Archer.
James was the kind of person that would make you feel at ease whenever you were around him. He was always there for his family whenever he was needed.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in the Vietnam War. James had many talents; he was an Institutional Chef, Mechanic &most recently an OTR Driver; he also worked for WalMart Superstore in Harborcreek and DHL.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Melvin Archer, Sr.
James is survived by his wife, Bonnie,
two children from a previous marriage
& four step-children from this marriage.
James was a Father,
Grandfather &Great-Grandfather.
He is survived by his brother, Johnnie G. O’Connor (Jule); his sister, Lorna M. Pool (Chuck), all of Los Angeles, Calif. and his very best friend, Rudolph (Rudy) Vignes of PA. Friends are invited to a Memorial service
at Harborcreek Baptist Church 4719 Buffalo Road on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Harry E. Burroughs officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial may be made to the family in care of the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc 602 West 10th Street Erie, PA 16502. Arrangements were handled by the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 602 West 10th Street.
