People named Horan are cordially invited to join the O'Hourihane DNA projects. This will be my only announcement on this board.
Horans have historically been associated with Galway and Mayo in Ireland. However there are some Horans down in Cork, the geographic area of the Hourihanes.
The project home is at:

http://tinyurl.com/HourihaneDNAProjectI am looking for people of Irish descent named some variation of Horan, Horgan, Horrigan, Hanrahan, Hourihan, and even Howard to join the project. Due to a number of factors, there is a possibility that these surnames have historically been confused with each other.
The project is looking for Y-DNA test participants and also autosomal DNA test participants. If you are a Horan descendant and have NO CLUE where your ancestors were from in Ireland this project could over time shed some light on your research. The project contains a background; goals; a surname distribution map and other items of interest.
