I have obtained two of the Hord books by Rev Hord on microfiche. One is the Genealogy of the Hord family and the other is the Hords of Virginia book. I'd like to get them converted to electronic form so I can post them on my website (yes, I believe they are both PD - let me know if you have knowledge otherwise). Anyhow, can anybody here offer insight on how I might be able to convert from microfiche to PDF or HTML? I checked around to some places that do it and its going to cost over $200 from most estimates to have somebody do it. I do have a scanner but I'm not sure it has the capability to blow up the image enough to scan in with some OCR software. It is a pretty cheap bit of gear.

Any help any of you could provide would be wonderful. Even if I could get it into flat-text form, I could probably handle converting it to a form that we could post online. PDF would be best but HTML will work.
