She was married at one point to someone named Cottier, later divorced. She had a son. I would like to find out if there is anyone out there who knew her, or is related to her. If you knew her, or knew about her life, or are a relative, send me an email with the particulars. I am asking for a friend of mine.

Hi rebeckie i am tryin to find a connecton between rachel cornwell that may have married an indian, i find his name as Chief Yun. and nothing else. looks like she married a James Horn also.I keep thinking could Yun and Horn be the same.the only thing wrong with this is, Rachel married 1808 at age 14 to James Horne then in 1823 married a James Horne when she was 29. She had childern Lynda Caroline Eveline Margaret Elizabeth John Micager Tennessee Marthia.Dicey Thease childer were all born from 1817 through 1852. then it gives a half sister Mariah Jane born in 1829.Dicey married Peter Gosnell, Who Killed her father in 1854.The only thing I can find with name Yun is Chinesse. elanoria4@yahoo.com

I do not have a lot of information on John Frank, although a lot of the names you have mentioned are sounding very close to ones that I have heard through the family.
Maybe if you could give me a little more of your information, we may be able to connect. Information such as where in SC was your John F born or live?
My Horn/Hornes were in the Brightsville Township, Marlboro, SC in 1850-1880s.
Have you looked at any of the census for the area, if so what years?

I don't know if you got my message so I am reposting it here.

Hi,

As I said I am researching this family for my friend Joann, it is Joann's husband's family, he is Frank Johnson. Joann wants the information to pass on to their granddaughter.

This is the information I have put together so far and I believe it to be correct.....Frank descends from George Thomas Horne, a son of John and Sarah Horne. George T. Horne married Martha Bullard. Their son, Gilbert Duncan Horne, married Bertha McDaniel. Their daughter, Iris Horne, married Joseph Carlton Johnson.

Did you ever find parents of John and Sarah?

Kathie
Do you have any other Hornes from the Farmington area? My Mariah Horne was born in Farmington in 1815 to an Enoch and Abigail Horne. Per Mariah's (married name Nute)death record Enoch was also born in Farmington, but that would have still been part of Rochester at the time.

You also mentioned a Chamberlin. In a sideline there is a Frederick Horne of Acton, ME married to a Polly Chamberlin of New Durham, NH who had a Mary A. Horne (m David Swett Glidden of Alton).

Hi, my greatgreat grandfather is Morris Horne married to Ellen Maness. Family Legend has it that my great grandmother Mollie Horne, daughter of Morris, had Native American ancestry. I notice your name is Cherokee at heart so I was wondering if you could tell me anything about our Native American ancestry. Mollie Horne Hasty, my great grandmother was described as a tiny, wiry little woman who could work 10 men into the ground. Her daughter-in-law, my grandmother tells the story that the women of the house couldn't clear the table and let the dishes soak a minute during the heat of the day because Mollie would be pulling at the bit to get them done. Sadly, Mollie, in her later years developed dementia and dies at Chatahoochee in Gadsen County Fl. My aunt has a vivd memory of the sad day one of her sons took her upstate. Anyway, I will gladly share any info I have. Thank You.
