I'm doing research along these lines...the ancestry of whom i believe is my dad's b-father. anyway, this is what i just came across:

Sarah Jane Hose m. William Adam McGinnis. In 1910, Sarah was 34 and William, 32. Their children were:

Ines-15
Henry-12
Date-6
Blake-4
Mildred-1

In 1910, according to same census, living in the household were two others of unknown relation (to me):

Barbara-68
Adolphus-38

Does anyone have any other info.? Thanks :)

Sally
I have an interest in the Isabella Hose nee Duff, my husbands direct line is via Quinton Bone her son born when she was approx 46 in Ayr Scotland. You mention that John Hose came to Australia, Quinton did too via South Australia. I have information re Isabella's parents,
Interestingly a William Bone married a Jean Duff in 1810, I think that Jean is the sister of Isabella and it is possible that William is the half brother to Quinton but I have yet to prove it.
I would love to hear from you, email me direct if you like at JeanBone69@msn.com

regards
Jean Bone
Uralla NSW

Sam Hose ~ Lynched in Newnan, Georgia, 1899

The lynching of Sam Hose (sometimes erroneously called Sam Holt) in Newnan, Georgia involved a murder prompted by a quarrel over wages. White folks believed that Hose, a laborer on Alfred Cranford's farm, had split open the skull of the respected white farmer with an ax and then injured his children and raped his wife near where the bleeding corpse lay. The alleged crimes, the chase, and the lynching occurred in and around places like Palmetto, Newnan, and Griffin -- small southern towns like any other within forty miles of Atlanta.
(more on website)

I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a website called "American Lynching." The link for the site is listed below.
Joyce

http://www.americanlynching.com/main.html

John H. Hose wife Annie E.

I am just starting my family research on my father's side. My grandmother's name was Annie Mae Hose, who married Perry Dallas Russ Sr. Annie Mae was born December 28th 1894 and is listed in the 1900 US federal census as living with her mother and father, John H. Hose and Annie E. Hose. They were married about 1884. The birth place of John H. Hose is Georgia Approximately 1857. I have found another John H. Hose in Houston County, Georgia but the est. birth date is 1860. If anyone has any information as to whether this is the same John H. Hose or not, I would greatly appreciate it. If it is the same John H. Hose, then I have information that would take me a long way back, but I have no absolute connection to the two and don't want to be barking up the wrong family tree.

Thanks in advance for any heads up or thumbs down!!

Julie Sizemore

My great grandmother was Theresa Brady who married William Sharp. William died in West Calder about 1908, and their children were born in various towns and villages. My grandmother Grace Sharp was born in Holmes Row, Uphall in 1885. Her siblings were born in Bathaget and Livingstone. Arthur, born 1881 in Bathgate went to Scammon JKansas to see his Uncle John Arthur Brady, and the he emigrated to Rock Springs, Wyoming, where his brotgher-in-law William Stark lived. William in turn had gone there to Andrew Kerr a cousin.

I would greatly appreciate any input from anyone realted to this group of people, and Iwould be delighted in anyone could tell me where Theresa Brady came from. The Irish connection to the family was immediate, but the locality is unkown.
rvhuk@yahoo.com
I have information regarding a John Hose who was born in 1811 in York County, Pennsylvania. I have no indication, however, that this John Hose moved west. My information indicates that he lived in York County and died there in 1857. He was the son of Dietrich (born Johan Dieter) Hose and Recini Frank. He first married Mary Hanes and they had the following children: Louisa, Eliza, and William. After Mary's death, he married Harriet Kaufman with whom he had a son, Cornelius.

My line traces back to Dietrich's older brother Peter. If you think that this may be the John Hose for whom you are seeking information, please feel free to contact me.

At some point in the late 1870's or early 1880's, they moved to Dallas County, Texas. I don't know what year they moved to Blue County (now Bryan), Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) except that it was before 1893. Martha E. died January 5, 1916, but I don't know where she died or where she is buried.
Maratha,

I am trying to trace my wife's ggg-grandparent David A. Hose, b: 3 Jan 1825, d: 16 Sep 1892, m: Mary Anna Grove abt 1849. His father was Jacob Hose, wife Sarah (Unknown). I believe they lived in Clearspring area. Do you have any information on this branch of the Hose family that may help?

Edward
