The 1930 "History of the Descendants of John Hottel" has the following:

2575-g Mary Hottel, seventh child of David and Susannah (Brubaker) Hottel, b. near Winchester, Va, Sept 4, 1815; d. Mar. 28, 1890; m. Aug. 12, 1841, Joel Dalby officiating. David Yocum, son of John and Sarah Yocum, b. near Reading, Pa, Aug. 1, 1821; d. July 16, 1888. At three years of age David came with his parents from the place of his birth to Ohio and settled near Steubenville on what is known as the Jewett farm, where he grew to young manhood. From Henry Sidebottom on Wills Creek, seven miles northwest of Steubenville in Island Creek Twp., Jefferson Co., he procured a farm of 180 acres on which he and his wife spent their entire lives. They lived in a log house and prospered. All their children were born and reared there. On July 21, 1840, he and his wife indentified themselves with the First Christian Church at Steubenville, where he held the office of elder to the time of his death. He had a talent for public speaking and frequently took the minister's place when absent. They are bur. near their home at Center Chapel.

The book lists eight children: Sarah Jane, Cornelius, Elias, John D., Stephen H., David S., Cyrus M., and Asa W. It traces Mary back to John Hottel through Charles. It also lists about 5 pages of Yocum descendants.
