A cousin sent me the german spelling, but I don't have it with me at this minute. My branch of Houdyshell, William A b 1818 Lincolin county Mo. Father was Joseph Howdershell, he orginated from NJ of the orginal Howdershell from Germany, had about 12 children who spread thruout the fledgling United States.
My William was born in Lincolin County Mo and moved thru Kansas and Wisc. He died in Grant Cty Wisc. His son Joseph went back to Lincoln Mo to handle his affairs as he didn't have a will.
Did a lot of diging to find just that. There were other family members who settled in Ks. Good luck on searching.
