Beginning to research my Hourigan line. Because of you Co. Limerick connection, I thought I would respond and see if there are any matches here. My great-great grandmother Margaret Hourigan married (can't find marriage record) an Edward Kennefick. They had their first four children (1841-1850) (have these baptismal records) from Kilteely Parish, County Limerick, IRL. Children were William, John(my great-grandfather), Johanna, and Margaret. They moved to Deptford, Eng. he in 1851, and she later by the date of their next child, and had their next three children (1855-1859) Mary Ann, Denis, and Edward.(Have these birth records). Edward and Margaret both died in England, she first in 1867 of a brain tumor and he in 1871 in a workhouse of bronchitis. Given how the Irish named their children, I was wondering if the name John could be a connection with your John as my guess is that Margaret's father was John Hourigan but I have not been able to find her marriage record or baptismal record yet. Do you know where in Co. Limerick your Hourigan originates. Thanks Susan Kennefick Kirtley
