Robin,

I am trying to find more information on my gr-gr grandfather, Daniel Hourihan who came from Ireland sometime before 1860. The family story is that he came from County Cork. While trying to find him, I found some references to John Hourihan. When my Daniel Hourihan married Mary Foley in Hogansburg, St. Lawrence County, NY in February 1860, John Hourihan and Ellen Sullivan stood up for them. The marriage was at St. Patrick's Church in Hogansburg.

When Daniel and Mary's first child was born, Mary Hourahan (sp) and Dennis Foley were the godparents. The birth was in December 1860.

In the 1870 census of Stockholm, St. Lawrence County, NY, I found John Hourihan age 28, b. Ireland living with Mary, age 21, b. Ireland, Timothy age 1, John 2nd, age 15.

I would welcome any help you could provide.

Thanks.
