Classification: Query
Surnames: Hourihan, McCarthy, Keohane
It would appear that your gggfather John would be the brother of my ggmother Mary who married Nicholas Keohane referenced in my earlier post. That would indicate that I am a generation older than you.
There may be three properties in Bauravilla involved, one of which was jointly held by a J. Hourihan in 1828, in 1832 it is listed jointly by Peter, Julia and Cornelius Hourihan; 1850s Peter; 1889 Anne Hourahan; 1928 Richard Forbes; 1930 Cornelius Cadogan. The second property may be a subdivision of the first and in 1880 is listed to Julia Hourihan; 1901 John Hourihan, this may be what shows in the census, 1910 Anne Hourihan, then Forbes-Cadogan. There is also the National School of which a Peter Hourihan was the lessor until Jeremiah McCarthy took over about 1871. McCarthys were teachers in Caheragh as I thin were Hourihans.
