I'm descended from John and Alice (or Elise) HOURIHANE from County Cork. They left Cork between 1848 and 1851 where they are on the 1851 census for Wigan, Lancashire with several children (Patrick, Mary, Ann, Rose, John, Michael, Margaret) born between 1834 and 1848 in Ireland. By the 1871 census the family name has changed to HORAN, and John has died in Wigan. I'm descended fom their youngest daughter Margaret. I suspect that the Hourihane family in Wales were related in some way.

I'm visiting Dublin in a few weeks to search the Catholic Church records available for Cork in the National Library. Can anyone advise on which parishes I should be looking for? I've only got one day and a long list of Cork Parishes!
