Notes for John LEE:
On the 27th October 1854, the 856 ton Shand, sailed from Plymouth,England arriving at Portland,Victoria,Australia on the 20 January 1855. On board among other pioneers to this new land were, Amos Lee an agricultural labourer, his wife Harriet Walduck,

Five months and sixteen days later the Blenheim arrived in Sydney on the 6th of July 1855 from South Hampton, England. On board was Amos's brother John Lee aged 38, his wife Elizabeth Rayner aged 37 (religious denomination Baptist) and family. William Lee aged 17 his wife Mary Farrant aged 22, (religious denomination Methodist). John Lee aged 12 years, Charles James Lee aged 8 years, Mary Anne Lee aged 5 years, Amos Lee one year. Amos died on the voyage out to Australia. Another son Samuel John Lee died while the family was still living in England.
