YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home for Paul A. Hovanec, 84, who entered into rest Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2011 at Austinwoods Nursing Home.
Paul was born June 4, 1927, in Struthers, Ohio the son of the late Paul and Veronica (Checkel) Hovanec.
He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
He had been employed as a shipping clerk for 30 years at Mahoney Sash and Door Co., retiring in 1986. He also worked at Moyer Pants Company.
He was a member of St. Christine Catholic Church, and was an avid bowler and golfer.
Paul will be sadly missed by many, especially his sister, Ethel Donchess of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by Jennie Belus, Theodore Hovanec, and Robert Hovanec.
