Classification: Query
Surnames: Howarth, Morris, Curran
I have a 15 year gap in my grandfather's life. He was born on 23 Mar 1886 in Aldershot, Hampshire, UK to Thomas Howarth (b1859, Ardwick Manchester) and Annie Howarth (nee Morris.
Thomas (1859) was a Bombardier in the Royal Horse Artillery at the time of his birth. I have checked the 1891 & 1901 census' for the family and can find no record of his Mother & Father. I have Thomas (1886) in the 1901 census at the Wellsley Training School at South Shields, Northumberland at age 15 and have tracked his movements into the Army in Nov 1901 to 1910 and then back into the Army in 1914.
I have Thomas and Annie's wedding certificate (Aldershot 25/5/85)and have traced Thomas'(1859) family back to his parents (Thomas (1823)& Rosahanna (nee Curran) in Manchester and Sale)who was a master butcher. I have not been able to track down any earlier ancestors.
Q1. Can anyone offer any ideas on locating Thomas(18590, Annie and Thomas(1886) in the 1891 Census and his parents in the 1901 census?
Q2. Any ideas on going further back on the family in Manchester?
All suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.
Regards
Simon
