I am trying to find any information on my Great-Grandmother Vashti Howell. According to what we know from oral family history she was married but for some reason was divorced and took back her maiden name of Howell. She never divulged any detailed information about her marriage to my mother (her grand-daughter).

We know that they lived in Anderson, South Carolina and then later in Greenville, South Carolina. It is possible that they moved to South Carolina from North Carolina.

All we know is that Vashti was a young child during the Civil War. At that time they were living in South Carolina.

Some of her brothers were William (Willie) Howell, Jack (Jackson) Howell, Bert Howell and some of her sisters were Liny Howell (Pruitt) and Hannah Howell (Bolt).
