My Howells are from Tonypandy Wales. My Grandfather is either Estyn David, or David Estyn Howells.

He was born around 1910.

... was born 1860 in Middlesex (no town given in any census records) and died in Rudgwick, Sussex in 1892.

Does anyone have any information on her mother Mary?

Despite no record of a husband, Mary HOWELLS is recorded in the 1861 England census as the 'Head', married (I'm assuming this should be 'Widowed'), age 35, a shopkeeper at 48 Grove Street, Regents Park and born in Kingsbridge, Devon.

Despite many connotations, I couldn't crossmatch a Mary born Kingsbridge with a HOWELLS in the FreeBMD marriage index.

Mary remarries a John TATE in Pancras in 1869 and she and Louisa Kate HOWELLS are living with John in Rudgwick, Sussex in 1871. Her and John are still there in 1881 and she passes away in 1887.

Louisa married William EDWARDS in 1882 in Rudgwick and died in 1892 having had one child, Evelyn Mary EDWARDS in 1886.

If you are still looking for info on Edward Wyman Howells, I believe he is the son of
George Muller Howells b. Bristol England, 10 March 1834; m. Hamilton County, Ohio, 29 April 1856 to Harriet Butler Wyman.
George Muller probably emigrated from Bristol between 1850-1855. During the mid to late 1860's he removed to Fushing, N.Y.
I know nothing on the Wymans.

Birth of Cornelius George A Butler registered jan-mar 1910, Westminster district, vol 1a page 428

The birth cert will also have his mother's maiden name on.

Daisy R Grace registered jan-mar 1914, Fulham district, mother's maiden name Gray, vol 1a page 387

If you have their marriage cert, their fathers' names will be on it, which would confirm correct birth certs.

There is a birth registration for Florence M Woolford, jul-sep 1910, Pontypridd registration district, Glamorgan vol 11a page 694

I am researching my Four Family Names.

My Howells side comes from Tonypandy Wales. My Grandfathers name Iestyn David Howells born (guessing around ) 1910

My Woolford side, also from Wales I believe Tonypandy. My Grandmothers name Florence Woolford born (guessing around ) 1910

My Grace side from England - My Grandmothers name Daisy Rose Grace (guessing around ) 1910

And my Grandfather Cornelius George Albert Butler,(guessing around ) 1910. I have alittle more info on him, his fathers and grandfathers name was John. His father was shot during the war and my grandfather was sent to live in an orphanage.

If anyone has come across any of these names please let me know.

I'm in Canada (Toronto) - with what would appear to be a very inadequate online atlas. Ok, I've found Shifnal - I have some people near Clungunford, not far from there.

I'm pretty sure I can see your entry for Edward on Genes Reunited (Oakengates?) - let's try linking our trees there.

I too am searching for Howells.. my father was Edward Howells, born in 1909 in St Georges Shropshire. His father was also Edward and his mother was Sarah Ann Elks.

Snow, Jr...b 7-25-48 to a Roger R Snow, Sr. and a Catherine Snow, and I think one of his relatives if I remember him talkin was a Edward Howells.....These Howells Iam looking for descended from the Binghamton, NY area but my father in law could be verry related to the Howells in Pa, he would not know cause he does not remember a whole lot about his childhood......

Your message on the notice board is 5 years old! Are you still searching? I'm trying to find some information on your Howells. Hannah was sister of my Grandfather Charles Edward Warren. I can give you quite a lot of info on Warrens, and there may be a skeleton in the cupboard. I can also say that when I was younger I remember meeting a descendant Howells - Bert - at my uncle's farm. Bert was a motor mechanic, but I don't know any more about him.

William G. Howells, Scranton, PA, area; immigrated from southern Wales about 1865, with wife (nee Dianna Johns), mother (Lida); chilcren apparently all born in PA; was known as Squire Howell[s], as he became a Justice of the Peace. William was my grandmother's grandfather.

Ursula Howells b1848 in Conway, Cardiganshire, Wales??

Hi there,

I'm looking on birth details for Ursula Howells who according to the 1851 census was living with her GrandParents Edward and Ann Howells, their Son John and Ursula's brother Samuel in Shrewsbury Holy Cross and St Giles.

Ursula was born around 1848 according to the census in Conway, Cardiganshire, Wales. I'm trying to track her parents if at all possible as John wouldn't be old enough to have fathered Samuel and Ursula.

Any assistance would be most welcome.

if Pamela was bon in 1932 it's unlikely Edith was b as far back as 1886. FreeBMD lists two Edith Maud Howells, one b Dec 1905 in Pontypridd, the other b Sept 1906 in Merthyr Tydfil, and an Edith M b Sept 1911 in Pontypridd.

The furthest-back complete generation I have is from the 1840s, so it's quite possible.
William Howells (b 1790) m Georgiana Isabella (b 1781) and had at least 3 boys, Edward (b 1812), Henry (b 1816) and Charles Isaac (b 1822). The gap between 1816 and 1822 would indicate there were probably more siblings, but I have no record of them yet. We are descended from Charles Isaac, who married Emma Rock (b 1825) in about 1845 and had several children.
Does any of this fit?

she is supposed to have killed a man in texas,it was manslaughter.
it is possible that she married circa 1918 in the usa.

Hi. My maiden name is Howells. Our family is from the Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Chester, etc area of Pennsylvania. Also had relatives live and living in and around the Scranton area. My grandmother, aunt, and great-grandparents are buried in Scranton. I do believe that i probably have several other Howells family members still all around there. Our family was huge. John H. Minson, Fowler, died July 18, 2004, in Pueblo, CO. He was born May 27, 1933, in Colorado Springs to Clyde and Mary Jane (Howells) Minson.

Mr. Minson was raised in Penrose and graduated from Penrose High School in 1952. He then worked at Ideal Cement Company and at CF&I in Pueblo. He enlisted later in the Marine Corps, serving for two years, which included a tour in Korea. After his discharge, he lived in Colorado Springs.

He is survived by a brother, Thomas Minson; a sister, Laura Lee Irvin, and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and one brother.

Burial in Mountain Vale Memorial Park.

Her parents Thomas Howells & Anne Davies married 1861 when her surname was changed to Howells.
She had a daughter Gwladys Howells born 1889 @Manafon then she emigrated before the 1891 English census.She is supposed to have murdered a man in Texas.
