Just curious if there are any Hoyts out there related to my line (alive lol). My Hoyt Line goes ---------- Simon Hoyt 1/20/1590 -----------Walter Hoyt 6/9/1617----------John Hoyt 7/13/1644---------- Thomas Hoyt 1/5/1670 ----------- Comfort Hoyt 2/20/1723 --------------- Daniel Hoyt (Danbury Conn) 5/2/1756 ------------ Elias Hoyt 10/6/1784 -------------- Zebulon Butler Hoyt 2/6/1828 in Kingston PA died in Hastings Mich, his wife was Euphemia Miller, they were parents to a daughter Mary Hoyt Sherman (mother of Gen W T Sherman and John Sherman senator of ohio 1865) and their son Charles Homer. I know Zebulon had siblings, I have many of his personal letters and photos but no info on them. I have an engraved revolver dated Sept 20, 1862 that belonged to Lt Col George E. Hoyt (C.H. Hoyt's uncle) George was born sept 1833 and died June 1, 1863, he served in the 143rd regiment was mustered into service sept 6, 1862.-------------- Charles Homer Hoyt 7/17/1862 born in Kingston, PA, this was the CH Hoyt & son company that had a large business through Chicago, Pittsburgh, mostly Cleveland, Ohio, his wife was Mary Olive Bigelow (of the Bigelow girls in ALamo Mich) Charles graduated Michigan Agricultural College in 1885, ----------Charle's sister was Mary Hoyt Kaley, she married John Kaley and lived in Elyria Ohio, their children were Pauline, Hoyt, and Karl. I know Karl was born 1887 and died in 1969. These three people were my grandfathers only cousins. ------------ Charles Homer Hoyt was father to Homer Butler Hoyt and Warren Edward Hoyt SR. ---------Homer B. Hoyt married Florence and they had two sons both died with no children. ----------------My grandfather was Warren E. Hoyt SR married to Grace Olive Nicholls, they had two children one died in infancy - Charles Henry Hoyt, the other was my father Warren E. Hoyt JR, and I am the last of the mohicans on this branch of Hoyts. ----------------- If you are a descendant of Mary Hoyt Kaley, Lt Col George E. Hoyt, or Elias Hoyt 10/6/1784, I would love to hear from you and fill in my geneology charts. In exchange I would be happy to share photos, I have ones all the way back also journal, letters and stuff relating to Elias, Euphemia, and Zebulon wedding certificates that sort of stuff I would be happy to scan and email. Thanks so much and good luck to all as you trace your Hoyt History!!!
