Re: Louis Hubert, Detroit, Michigan

Hi, Karen.

You may remember we exchanged a few eMails on the same subject in 2006. I went back to my notes, and I notice that now you have a birthdate for Louis Jr: 20 Sept 1886 in Detroit. I presume you have not seen his birth certificate, for normally/normally it should give tne names of his parents. Of course to say those were Louis amd Maty J. Hubert is not very helpful to find the full indentity or maiden name of Mary J.

Best regards,

Jean-Paul Hubert

Hi, we are probably related and you will find a wonderful PDF with the Whole family in Westfalen online, now at this link: http://www.schaeferhoff.org/pdf-datei/STEINENmWapen.pdf Your people are listed here and I have just put them all on PAF as this is my family also from Frömern in Westfalen. The Steveken family is a pastor family that is actually the original name of von Steinen. Both the Hubbert/and Stevekens are on this link and there are 42 wonderful pages of information that was done in commemoration of the 250 of this family as serving as Pastors in Froemern.
Sonja

I, too am a decendent of Lawrence Hubert and Catherine HANDKAMP. Their daughter Catherine HUBERT married Theodore HUNEKE in 1867 (or 1869). Theodore HUNEKE was born in Germany (1844) and arrived port of New Orleans 1855 in the companay of Mary HUNEKE and Burnhardine HUNEKE. I can find no other information on Mary or Burnhardine. I do have decendents of Catherine HUBERT and Theodore HUNEKE if you need them.

I have some marriage index CDs too, so they've helped. Some census too.

My husband's grandfather mentioned going to Montreal to see cousins, he thought they were Hubert and he mentioned and old photo they had of his ancestors. *sigh* It would be great to find who has that now. Would love a scan of it. Might be Augustin & Apolline (Dyon/Guyon/Lemoine) Hubert.

My grandfather, Friedrich Wilhelm Gottfried Hubert:

1865 ---- Friedrich Wilhelm Gottfried Hubert born at 8:00 A.M. on the 26th Oct 1865 & Baptized Lutheran on the 12th of Nov 1865 in the Sankt Bernhardin Kirche in Breslau, Stadt Schlesien, Preuβen, Germany (Warclaw, Poland). His Godparents were Wilhelmine, daughter of deceased general farming director; Carl Prieffer - wood & coal trade business & Alexander Kliedich - carpenter. Friedrich became a bicycle instructor and barber. His parents were Eduard Hubert a carpenter, cabinetmaker and Marie Eliesabet Caroline Heinze. They both died after 1868 before 26th Sep 1898 when Friedrich was married. The family lived on Vorwerksstraβe, No. 26 in Breslau, Stadt.

I am told without documentation as yet, joined the French Foreign Legion and became a deserter at a very young age. So, may we are related somewhere along the line. I have never been able to locate where his father, Eduard Hubert came from. So, you are right maybe there is a connection somewhere. I would like a copy of your family tree sent of line to Barry Hubert Beattie sqrbear@cox.net

From research I have found to be descendent of Jacob Hubert who was married to Della Hubert. They lived in Naperville and had 8 Children Alice, Bessie, Irene, Gladys, Howell, Howard, Milton, and my grandfather Delmar. Della had a mother named Doris Scheman both were originally of Bremen, Germany. Wondering if anyone had any information above this. Dating back to Late 1800's.

Once again I have some more information for you about the Huberts, as Willis Hubert was my Great Grandfather who had my Grandfather Robert Louis Hubert (my mother's father). I thought that was interesting to find out it was Rosetta Mae Hubert because on the Soc. Sec. Death Index papers I ordered it said Rose M. Martin. So I believe that is the maiden name you are looking for. I don't know if you still look at this, as it was a while ago, but if you do we should exchange information because it sounds like we both have a little info that the other might want! Thanks!

HI,
I'll try to write you in english.
Effectively,I would be interested by your transcription and the information on the immigrant route of Maxime adn Cordélia.Simply, because I think I've found Pierre-Paul Hubert's parents. Two lines in two contracts gave me a proof of my discover. I'm working on my notes this week to send it to the concerned authorities. I want to share that with every one but it's too early for the moment. So, maybe your information can bring more to my theory.
Are you able and do you want to send me that information?
Best regards,

André

Yes, I would love to see the info you have -- especially if you extracted more than Huberts from the records. You can sent to jim.roewer@uswag.org.

I assuem you haven't found your g-grandparents' marriage record -- that would liekly have info on the couple's parents.

The 1868 Breslauer Adressbuch lists a Tischler Heinze on Klosterstraße, which is near St. Bernhardin; I plan to check to see if that address belonged to the Bernhardin parish. My gg-grandfather, the Tischler Ernst Heinze married Wilhelmina Pätz ca. 1850. My g-grandmother Adelheid Heinze was born in Breslau 30 May 1850 (info from her Arbeitsbuch, I haven't yet found her baptism record). Will have to look at St. Bernhardin records -- I have trip to Salt Lake planned for later this Summer.

My family members were Huguenots who escaped from France to America. they were Huberts as well. Maybe there is a connection.

sheryl

Hi!

I have data on marriages for eleven children born to Emery HUBERT and Marie-Rosanna CORDEAU. I also have Emery HUBERT's ascendency up to Pierre-Paul HUBERT and Suzanne LAPORTE (approx 1716).

Up to this date, no civil nor notarial record have been found for the Pierre-Paul/Suzanne marriage, and Piere-Paul HUBERT (at times HÉBERT)is listed as "from unknown origin". But a Quebec amateur genealogist has recently completed exhaustive research that would tend to show who were Pierre-Paul's father/mother, and has submitted an article for publication on the subject.

Jean-Paul HUBERT,
Danville (Qc)
Canada.

Great!

This researcher had told me he would contact the PRDH people with his results. I am glad to see that they have been convinced and therefore added Pierre-Paul HUBERT's parents.

Your answer mentions a link to your research, but I did not see it on the message. I am interested, since I am gathering all info I can find on marriages in Canada and the USA from descendants of HUBERTs originally from France.

Best regards,

Jean-Paul

Liz, probably too late to reply to youir post, since your last post was in 1999. My grandparents were also Mennonites from Russia and spoke Low-German I think they were called Germans from Russia. They lived in Kansan or Oklahoma I don't know much about the Hubert history but I have a cousin who does. Hopefully you can find what you are looking for.

Hi André,
I would be more than happy to share what I have. I just got back from a long trip to Madagascar (business) so am playing a bit of catch up right now and the transcription will require digging through a couple of boxes. I will get back to you within a week (probably this weekend).

Take care,
Judi
p.s. (your English is so much better than my French! Thank you for bringing things down to my level... the dictionary route is timeconsuming and rarely very accurate)

p.s. my niece speaks French so I hope to have her help me with the land records!

A transcription (more notes, really) of a family Bible that ended up in Salix, Iowa going back from Maxieme Duchene (b. 1838) and Cordelia Hubert had a Pierre Paul Hubert with a Suzanne (no last name) of the right vintage but the transcription I have didn't go back any farther. I do have some information on the immigration route of Maxieme and Cordelia, hence the hopefulness on land records. The Bible was in French and unfortunately, was lost in a fire in California a few years ago (not the fires of last week, however, although they were in the same area of California)

Unfortunately, not a lot. I know that Jacques (dit LaCroix) Hubert and Marguerite (dit Marentette) Godet are NOT his parents, but I have been unable to turn anything else up. My next step is to try to put things together with land records, although I admit that I am less sure of myself in terms of land records in Canada as opposed to the US. In upstate NY, I was able to triangulate on one ancestor through chains of ownership in land records, so once I figure out the details of how to go about it in Canada, I will see what I can turn up.

Thanks again for all your info. One verification point. In your earlier message you said:
"Laurent was married to Marie-Ursule GOSSELIN (dau. of Pierre & Ursule GERVAIS) on 18 Jan 1819, at Ste-Trinité de Contrecoeur. I have found the following data about their children (I may be missing some)"

Did you mean that Marie-Ursule's parents are Pierre Gosselin and Ursule Gervais or that it is Pierre Gervais and Ursule, last name unknown (just want to be sure as depending on my mood I could interpret it either way)

Thanks.
