my wife's father was John Hucknall who emigrated to Australia as a young lad. He came from Kirklington Nottingham. He was born on 29.05.1909 His father was Arthur William Hucknall and his mother was Clara Ethel Rickett I certainly interested in more history on the Family

I'm interested in hearing from any Hucknalls as I'm trying to trace all lines of the Hucknall name. I've currently got Hucknalls from Notts, Leicester and Derby as well as other places. I believe the name to originate from the Hucknall town in Nottingham. If you would like to exchange information please get in touch, I would be interested to see if I can find your ancesters within the data base I have already collected.

Thomas and Elizabeth did not emigrate to USA. They both died in Nottingham is 1879 and 1897 respectively. However some of their children did emigrate.

Ann E Hucknall was the daughter of Thomas, 1817, and Elizabeth, 1819. They lived in Sherwood, St Mary Parish, Nottingham borough, Nottinghamshire from 1861-1896 when they immigrated to Pennsylvania, USA.

I am related to the HUCKNALL family in and around Shardlow. The furthest I have researched so far is to Jane HUCKNALL, born about 1836 in Shardlow who married William WOLFE (7 Jan 1856, Nottingham, Notts)

Ann Elizabeth Hucknall, daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth, baptised 28 May 1851 at Holy Trinity, Nottingham.

Parents are probably Thomas and Elizabeth (nee Webster), Thomas originating from Caythorpe, Notts.

Hi Amy,

My name is Richard Hucknall and I live in Groby in north-west Leicestershire - about 15 miles from Shardlow.

I have traced the male line of my family back through Nottinghamshire (Burton Joyce, Epperstone, and Southwell) and Derbyshire (Ockbrook) back to the late 1600s. Ockbrook being only about 5 miles from Shardlow. The whole of the South Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, North Leicestershire area has numerous Hucknall families over the last 300 years - even though the name is rather uncommon.

Although my database has several hundred 'Hucknalls', I have no Jane Hucknall born around the date you say, marrying a 'Wolfe'.

If you think I can be of any further help then please get back to me.
