Carlisle Huddleston Originally from Belfast - emmigrated 1970s

I am looking for my grandfathers long lost brother Carlisle Huddleston, also known as Lylie (unsure of spelling) which is what he called himself.

He was born in 1930s in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He emmigrated to canada in 1970s and the last place my grandparents know where he was, was ontario?

I am told he was married before leaving Belfast and had one daughter called Susan Jane Huddleston?

I would love to know any information on him or his family.

Many thanks

I descend from Milton HUDDLESTON, brother of your Charles. I believe that Charles was born about 1810, since the parents were md in 1806 and there apparently was an older sister, Jane, b about 1808. After Nathan's death, his widow did marry (later divorced)an Abram HUDDLESTON but I'm still not exactly sure how he relates to Nathan.

Rootsweb pages for John (or James, or James John) Huddleston, supposed spouse of Elizabeth Charlton show up to eight sons (no daughters are shown), with various dates of birth for several of them. They are:
1. Daniel, DOB "Abt 1710," or 1712, or 1715, or 1720 All except the 1720 date (10 pages reflect it) show birth in England, the 1720 date shows POB as VA.
2. John DOB Abt 1713, or abt 1715, or Bef 1720, or 1720. All show his POB as England
3. David DOB Abt 1718, OR 1720, OR 1730, OR 1735. His POB is shown variously as England, or Halifax VA or NC
4. William DOB Abt 1720, or 1730 or 1733 or 1735
5. Thomas DOB Abt 1725 VA
6. Henry Abt 1727 VA
7. Benjamin DOB Abt 1730, or 1733, or 1734, VA
8. Robert, DOB 1759 (sic.) Father had died in 1739

"Colonial Families of the South" lists only four sons: Daniel, John, Thomas and Henry. It says Thomas moved to Pennsylvania, and Henry moved to Georgia, and claims that John's, Thomas's and Henry's lines are not traced. It also says that Daniel married Mary Ball, sister to George Washington's mother, but I have found no Ball genealogies showing this claim.

I repeat that I have found no proof of any of this, except that James Huddleston, sometimes shown as spouse of Elizabeth Charlton, paid taxes in Norfolk County, VA in 1721. I have found no physical evidence that a "John Huddleston" or an "Elizabeth Charlton" lived in VA.

Irma Huddleston Bloom published a book, "Josiah Dunn Huddleston 1782 - 1865". I have been unable to locate a copy of this book which has been out of print for several years. If anyone has a copy, I would appreciate knowing if the family of Uriah Huddleston, born 1854, is documented in the book. Uriah was the son of Charles W. Huddleston and the grandson of Josiah Dunn Huddleston.

Hello,

I am looking for more information on the Huddleston origins, particularly if anybody is aware of any Indian descent? I am the descendant of (what I think) is Mary Jane Huddleston (my great-grandmother's mother- and I have photos of my great-grandmother, Nevada Apple; she is very dark & has completely different facial structure). Found a connection to Isaac Alexander Huddleston, saw his photo & that of wife, Judith Nichols, both look to be possibly native american.

I would greatly appreciate any information anybody can provide on this! Thanks!

(this would makeher death on her birthday.)

Rachel Martin's birth date is from "The Huddleston Family" by Clarissa B. Loving in 1924. If February 11, 1754 is a correct birth date she could not be the mother of some of the Daniel Huddleston's children or she married very young.

Clarissa Loving list Thomas J. Huddleston as the eldest son of Rachel Martin and Daniel Huddleston. She states Thomas was born in 1769 in Bedford County, Virginia. Rachel Marin Huddleston would have been 15 years old.

Rachel Martin Huddleston's death date is from "The Huddleston Family" by Clarissa B. Loving in 1924.

Rachel Martin Huddleston's burial information is from "The Huddleston Family" by Clarissa B. Loving in 1924. It states she is buried by the K. & M. railroad on the old Huddleston Farm, close by the old Huddleston homestead, near what is now Falls View, West Virginia.

Numerous records refer to the Huddleston who was supposedly married to Elizabeth Charlton by the name "James," not "John." Some records indicate his name was "James John Huddleston." Most of my family records say he fathered six (some say nine) sons, the oldest being John. This John supposedly was born 1715 in England; one of his sons is said to have been James Huddleston (aka Heddleston, Hudelson), who is shown in "The Huddleston Family Tables" as progenitor of "Series L,James Hudelson of Mifflin County, PA." I descend from this line.
There is one LDS FamilySearch data base that shows James Huddleston, spouse of Elizabeth Charlton as born 25 Nov 1690 in Gosperton, Lincolnshire, England and the son of John Huddleston.
The only proof of any of this which I have seen is that a James Huddleston paid taxes in Norfolk County, VA in 1721. That county is where "Colonial Families of the Old South" shows "John Huddleston" lived. Incideantally, the copy of that book in the Virginia State Library has been annotated by changing the name "John" to "James."
All this may complicate, not help solve the mystery of this line of Huddlestons.

Linda (and Marv)

I am g-granddaughter of Jesse N. Huddleston; same Randolph County, AL, family. Happy to share what we have of his line. As a bit of clarifiction re the above..."Newton" associated with this "N" initial hs turned up in a on-line family tree. Be aware, per the owner of said tree, this is "an assumption" that as of 02/21/2009 cannot be documented.

Linda2

In my family; a cousin adopted 2 children in Texas, in or near El Paso. She was not married and parents wouldn't allow her to keep the babies. She was wishing for the last baby, believe a boy, would be adopted by a aunt & uncle. They refused to do so though. Any info you could find would be great, and have cousins' name & her boyfriend if it would help out. my cousin later did marry her boyfriend and had 1 or 2 more children with him before they divorsed.
