Robert D. Hudgins was my father and Henry my Uncle. I have two sons Harrison E. Hudgins and Daniel P Hudgins. Harrison D. Hudgins is entered in the cemetery of Oak Grove Church in Gainesville Georgia. I would be glad to provide more upon contact.

Not sure if you would have this information Heneretta Hudgens did marry William June 17, 1886 in Cadwell, KY. You said you had pictures of Heneretta and her Mom do you have the pictures posted? And what was her Mom's Maiden name?

If you are refering to an ethnic group, you may mean "Black Dutch", which was sometimes used by Native Americans to hide their true ethnicity, during the time when it could be used against them....Hope this helps.

My dad was William David Hudgins, b.1909-1994.
He did a huge chart of family that I have somewhere(!).
Lots of our family comes from Texas & Alabama - south & southwest. Dad was raised & lived in Calaxico(sp), California.
I couldn't sleep tonite and googled dad's name. Found your entry and just thought I'd leave a comment.

Hello, I am at a dead end trying to find a GG Grandmother and GG Grandfather. The only thing I have is my grand father was Marcus J. Hudgins his father was Marion Hudgins who we think was born in GA. possibly "Hall county GA." I have found a census where My G-grandfather Marion was living in McDowell county NC. and his mother was listed with him and she was listed as "Mary A. Ryfield" I cannot find anything on a marriage an wonder if 1- maybe she never married or 2- maybe she had remarried. If anyone has anything pertaining to these names please contact me. Friday, Feb. 10, in Houston, Tex.
Services were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13,
at the Church of Christ in Hugo with Dillard Sarrett and
Don Smith officiating. Burial was to be in Springs Chapel
Cemetery by Lampton-Mills Funeral Home.
Mrs. German, 78, was born May 17,1905, in Grand Saline,
Tex. She had lived in Hugo 67 years. She was a member of
the Church of Christ.
Surviving are one son, David German of Dallas; one
daughter, Emily Hill of Longview, Tex.; five brothers, A. J.
Hudgins of Springdale, Ark., Bernard and Joel Hudgins,

I am looking for anyone who has more information on my great-grandparents, Marcine H. Vincent and Leona A. [Allen?] Hudgins Vincent.

Marcine was born 1873 (draft card) or 1874 (gravestone online transcription) and died 1956.

Leona was born 1881, possibly in Virginia and died 1949 in West Virginia (both dates from gravestone).

Both are buried in the Vincent Cemetery on Vinegar Hill Road, Marion County, West Virginia.

I've been able to trace a few family members back pretty far, but I'm trying to move generation by generation now to fill in the blanks. Emma is one I've been search for everywhere!!!

She's either a Hudgins or a Hudgens. I know she was born in South Carolina about 1874. She married Ellette/Elliot Mattison Cooper (b. 1869), and had her first child in 1894.
