Jacob was a pretty common name among the Huffers (and other Germanic families) in the 1700's and 1800's.
The ancestry for Jacob Huffer (1830-1871) of Indiana, son of Samuel (1785-1864) and Rosana, is still uncertain for me:http://www.hufferfamily.com/tng/getperson.php?personID=I2793...
Samuel's father MAY have been a Jacob Huffer (born perhaps in the 1760's, based on Samuel's birthdate?), but I don't have any firm proof of that, and I am not sure if and how that Jacob might connect to other Huffer lines I have worked.
I'm fairly sure that the Huffers of Augusta County VA share a common ancestry with my Huffer line, back to Johannes Hoffer(t) of Berks County PA and his son Jacob Hoffert (1755-1848). This Jacob Huffer did have a son Samuel, according to my records, but that Samuel was born 1803 in VA and died there in 1861.
Bottom line: I don't know of a connection (yet) between those Jacob and Samuel Huffers.
I would love to hear from you with information about the descendants of William Stuart Huffer (I didn't even have his middle name before). As you can see from my Huffer Family website:http://www.hufferfamily.com/tng/descendtext.php?personID=I12...
I am missing a LOT of information about William's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beyond. Would you be willing to share? Feel free to contact me directly via e-mail.
