Hello Raymond,
I tried to reply but I think I mucked it up so here is my socond attempt.
Thank you so much, Its wonderful to hear from you.
My first family contact in 8 years.
The contact phone number I did have was auntie Hilda, but I lost touch when she went to America to live with her son.
Hilda was my only source of information since my dad Jimmy died in 1998.
The last I heard was that Mary (Grandmother) had demetia and was in hospital and Robert & John were ok but Hilda had no contact details.
Reading your message, I assume Mary has since passed away.
I little have snippets of information off old Birth / Death Certificates that Mary had kept in an old bickie tin.
Mary Ann Sharp Mcintosh.
Born 22 Feb 1913 5.55 pm at 1 Keith St Peterhead
Robert Hughson & Mary Mcintosh, married Sept 4 1933, witnesses: Henry Anderson Hughson (Roberts Brother), Elizabeth Foreman Mcintosh (Mary's sister)
The info I have about Mary's mother is:
Elizabeth Grover: Born 5 Mar 1894, Died 9 May 1969.
Elizabeth married twice first to James Mcintosh and then to Thomas William Grover.
Father: Alexander Foreman.
Mother Jane Foreman nee Greig.
Mary's Granmother on her fathers side:
Mary Ann Henderson Sharp
Born: 14 Dec 1863 4am, 1 Meridan st Montrose
Father: William Sharp, Ships Master.
Mother: Margaret Sharp nee Keay.
Maried 23 Oct 1857, Montrose
I don't have any info about Robert Hughson (grand dad) other than what was on his Death Certificate:
Robert Hughson, Born 5th October 1901, Died 16 Jun 1974. Occupation: Ships Steward.
Father: James Hughson (Seaman Merchant Service)
Mother: Mary Hughson, nee Anderson.
I am planning a 6 week trip to Britain in July/August next year (2009), I promised my daughter Rebacca I would show her around my old home turf in Edinburgh and also a tour around the country for her 21st birthday.
I would really like to make contact with as many family members as I can prior to the trip so that I arrange to catch up with them while we are over there.
My e-mail is hugclan@hotmail.com
Great to hear from you Raymond, will talk again soon.
Cheers, Derek
