I knew Jimmy Huguenot from High School in WVA and am sorry to report that he died last week in New Mexico or Az. He lived 3-4 houses away from my familyin Wharton, WV.

My family name is "Huguenot", but trying to research it has been very difficult. I have found my 3Great Grandfather was James Huguenot born in France about 1837. How do I research in France? I am not sure the location of his birth or that he was a member of the Huguenot Society. Can anyone shed some light on my research?

I have heard relatives claim James was married to Nancy Singleton; however, on his son's birth record (Ford Huguenot) it lists James' wife as Nancy Callihan.

Can anyone shed light on this?

My grandmother's name was Helen Erma Huguenot. She lives in Ashland Ky. My Great Grandfather was James Huguenot and he was raised in Rush Ky. His grandfather and grandmother met on a ship in the late 1800's coming from France to America. I am currently trying to trace my family tree for my grandmother. I think we may some of the same relations. My Mom says my Great grandfather has relations in central Florida and some in Tennessee also. I know James was born in France and he camt to this country and married Emily Bushman who was also from France He became a citizen of the USA in Brown country, Ohio in the 1800's. Most of his family settled in eastern Kentucky.
