HI,

I just found out that my Grandmother's maiden name is Blokzyl (Blokijl). And some of the names that you mentioned sounds familiar...i am not sure if there is any connections...but! you never know.

Cornelia, have you tried the netherlands web site www.genlias.nl it is a great site and I am sure you will find family that you are looking for. My wife is a Blokzyl [Blokzijl] and I have spent the last two weeks searching on that site and was able to take her family back two more generations The site is in Dutch or English. But you will still need a Dutch to English word list. I got one from the Lds Church family History Center at your nearest Lds Church that has a Family History Center. Or you might be able to download it from the Chuch site lds.org, Library catalogue. My wifes family is Jan [John] and Evertje Groen Blokzyl father of Berend and Jennie Groenwald/Groenveld Blokzyl Berends Brother Abel and Hilke [Helen] Negen Blokzyl the first of her family line to come to the USA in the late 1800,s. The furthest back I have been able to go is a Jan Hindriks Blokzijl in Finsterwolde, Gronigen, Netherlands. I wish you success and if I can be of any further help just e-mail me........Jerry R

hi!! As you can see, I'm a blokzyl and I'm wondering if I'm related in anyway. Most of my family is from Appingedam (I'm not sure how to spell it) my grandparents names are Hendrik and Anjte Blokzijl, I'm not quite sure about anyone further. You'll have to email me and I can ask my oma or my dad about my family.

My grandparents are:hendrik and cornelia blokzyl, from
Hoogeveen,Holland. Cornelia's maiden name is: Huisies.
