There were two completely different Humphries family that had connections with St. Clair Co. AL. One is descended from the Uriah Humphries clan and the other is descended from the Humphries of Brunswick Co. VA, the first certain member of which is John Humphries who left a will dated 1738. I have read that your James (married to Sarah) is connected with the Uriah group. There is another James (married to Sabrina) who lived close by who is connected to the Brunswick Co. group. Write back if you would like to compare notes on these families.
