HI, I'm so sorry I haven't been able to get back to you on the obituarie you wanted for my Dad. It's been a crazy summer here in Sacramento. Things have settled down a bit now, so I'll get on it.
Glad you heard from my Aunt Dorothy. She's great & probably has a lot of information that you could use. She was just here & we talked alot about finding the rest of the family. Where are you located? My email address is: brandyk4313@sbcglobal.net. What is yours? the one I have keeps "bouncing" back to as invalid, so I must have something wrong.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Brandy

On Eleanor's obituary, listed are grandchildren, Sean, Robert (Lynda), Russell (Margaret), Dr. Richard (Cynthia), Ryan (Jennifer) and Randall Hunn; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kevin and Morgan Hunn.
I understand from brandyk4313, that 5 children are Vincent's and 1 child is John Jr's. Could you email me which one is John Jr's ? And who the great grandchildren belong to? And what happened to John Jr's wife, Marlene? Until finding you and Brandy, we were kind of at a brick wall after Vincent and Alice's line.

Thanks so much for that info. I wasn't aware that Mr. Hunn was that old. A few years ago I spoke with him on the phone. He was quite surprised when I told him my name was Roland Hunn. After that he was pretty chatty. His family is, of course, a different group of Hunns. It's so sad to hear that he passed away.

I am not sure, but if so, it was prior to 1850. Both Zadok and my GG Grandfather David L. Hunn went to Yale Divinity. Zadok wound up in central New York. But I know this only from having been in contact with someone out there. I do the genealogy sporadically, so jobs get dropped.

I have been gathering infromation for a long time on the Hunn family. I have two letters that give a brief history on David Hunn and his two brother's Gideon and Jonathan.
The begining of the history is a little off, but the rest proves to be correct. I will share what I have.

Mary Ann Sarah Hunn

Hi! I have been trying to track down ancestors of my mother, Frances Schroder. Her father's mother's maiden name was Hunn, but I have had some difficulty researching my grandfather's history directly.

By searching info on my grandfather's siblings, I have determined that my great grandmother (nee Mary Ann Sarah Hunn) and John Fredrick Schroder were married and had at least one child born in England before emigrating to the US and settling in South Dakota in 1883 and having more children. My grandfather (Charles Schhroder) was born in SD in 1885 and died in Los Angeles in 1946. Charles had sisters Alice and perhaps Katie.

They moved to Oregon sometime thereafter, and John died in an accident leaving Mary with several children, including my grandfather. In about 1905 Mary moved to Chico, California, where she lived until her death at age 94.

I'm not clear as to whether Katie Schroder was his sister or his cousin, but she came to America in 1883 at 6 months old, and she apparentlly also lived in South Dakota, then Oregon, and married Ernest Carpenter in Chico, California in 1909. Ernest died in 1936 and Katie and Mary lived together in Chico until mary died in 1946, and then Katie died in 1983 at age 100.

I know that Mary had at least one sister who still lived in England for some time after Mary came to the US, and may have spent her whole life in England - I'm not sure. I would like to know more about Mary, her siblings and children, and learn who her parents were.

I believe that John F. Schroder was born in Germany. I don't know whether he and Mary were married in Germany or England, but I think it is likely that it was England, where Mary's family apparently lived in Charlton-on-Kent.

Does anyone who reads this have any info about any of these people? I would love to exchange information. Thanks!

Hello!

Since my mother's family is all deceased except for one elderly uncle who can't remember much, I have just recently discovered that my mother's father's mother's maiden name was Mary Alice Hunn, born in Charlton, Kent. She came to US at some unknown time and married John Schroder, an immigrant from Germany.

They lived for some period in South Dakota, where my grandfather, Charles Schroder, was born in 1886, but ended up in California, where Mary Alice lived to age 94 and died about 1944 in Chico, Butte County, California.

I have been trying to learn more about the Hunns in England. I know that Mary Alice had at least one sister who stayed in England and married there, and I don't know if she also had brothers, but I sure would love to be able to connect with more info about her family there. If you or anyone who sees this had any info on them or if there is any info about my branch that might help anyone, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks! ---Susan

I knew that her husband, Vincent Daniel Hunn was buried at Calvary with some of her Donnelly relatives. I am researching the Hunn family. Vincent is the great grandson of Conrad Hunn who is brother to Joseph, my 2nd great grandfather.

I have obituaries for their son, John and his wife Eleanor. I only of names of John's children. I have nothing on Vincent J or Dorothy. If you would like to exchange information, email me at belllady57@ hotmail.com

Do you have John Hunn's mother's name? Ramona & I have several Josephs but I can't pin one to having a John in 1853.

Hi,
I am the great great granddaughter of Joseph Hunn b.1805.
You would be the great great great granddaughter of Conrad Hunn b. 1808.
Joseph and Conrad being brothers.
My sister, Ramona, got very involved with recording our tree back to Germany and is maintaining trees of many of the branches of Joseph's siblings. This is almost required since many people married 2nd & 3rd cousins.
I am just hoping to keep filling in information on the branches of these tree.
Would you like to share information?

My mother's maiden name was Hunn and my research includes my ggg-grandfather David Hunn born 9/2/1708. His brother Jonathan 1/12/1704 and brother Gideon born 3/12/1709. I believe they were all born in Wethersfield, CT. Is it possible the information you have relates to my ancestors? And if so, I would appreciate any information you would be willing to share.
Kathy Leinberger
